"In the past, because each skin panel has its own contour, a separate tool was required for setup and trimming [of each part]. Today, only one tool, the universal trim fixture [or POGO], is required. The biggest benefit is the drastic reduction in the number of [hard fixtures], which cost $12 million." This saved Boeing around $8 million over time, they reported.
