It’s hard to appreciate the scale of this container, standing about 5’ tall, the bowl is 30” wide, the plant personalities however are HUGE though too!
I’m super excited for the gold foliage Bluebeard in back to start showing off those periwinkle blue blooms any minute. Stay tuned for an update!

These shade containers are being planted in late July, just in time to steal the show for Seafair gatherings and carry beautiful color into fall. Sometimes the best gardening isn’t about starting earlier—it’s about knowing when to refresh.

I used to think ornamental grasses were just “the tall thing in the middle.”
Then I started paying attention.
Those leaves aren’t just filling space. They’re aiming your eyes upward, giving all that soft purple Echeveria something completely different to push against.
That’s when I realized something.
Beautiful gardens aren’t built from beautiful plants.
They’re built from relationships between plants.
Every plant has a job. In this container, these grasses aren’t trying to steal the show—they’re making the show possible.
