UPDATE- 9/24 @ 2:15PM, Two fiber optic cables were cut—one in Covington and the other in Barnesville. A Repair Crew worked throughout the night to attempt to restore service. We received an update that the crews are still working to repair the damaged fiber.

At this time, we have not been given an estimated time of repair. We are hopeful that the repairs will be completed soon and that your channels will be restored.

Again, we sincerely apologize for the inconvenience and appreciate your patience and understanding as the crews continue working to repair the fiber.

A fiber cut near Covington, GA is currently affecting our Absolute/Skitter Cable TV service. At this time, customers will only be able to receive local channels.
We have not been given an estimated time for the repair. Technicians are actively working to restore full service as quickly as possible.

A giant shoutout to Jeffery Moore and his Construction Crew for working so quickly to get our customers back online. We appreciate you and all your hard work.

A fiber has been cut in the Evergreen Rd area, impacting PRTC customers in the surrounding area. Our Construction Dept has been dispatched to the location to assess the damage. At this time, we do not have an estimated time of repair.

⚠️ Scam Alert: Beware of Calls Impersonating PRTC Employees

We have received reports that scammers are calling PRTC customers while pretending to be PRTC employees. They may use the name of an actual PRTC employee and ask for your personal or financial information. They may also ask you to forward your phone calls to another number.

These calls may come from an anonymous or blocked number. PRTC will NEVER call you from an anonymous number.

If you receive a suspicious call:

DO NOT provide any personal or financial information.
DO NOT forward your calls to another number.
HANG UP immediately.

If you are unsure whether a call or message is legitimate, please contact PRTC directly at 478.984.4201 or email [email protected] to verify the correspondence.

Please share this information with family members, friends, and neighbors to help protect them from scams.

PRTC mourns the loss of Director Kennon Smith, a longtime member of the Progressive Rural Telephone Cooperative Board of Directors.

Mr. Kennon faithfully served PRTC for many years with dedication, integrity, and a genuine concern for both our employees and our customers. He lived a remarkable 98 years and was a devoted Christian whose faith was reflected in the way he lived and served others.

We are grateful for his many years of leadership and the lasting impact he made on our cooperative and community.

Our thoughts and prayers are with the Smith family during this time of loss.
