Kinross Kettle River - Curlew is proud to commit $1 million to support a new multi-use facility in Republic, bringing together a library, community gathering space, and a licensed childcare center.

This project, led by the Friends of the Republic Library in partnership with the City of Republic and other regional organizations, will create a first-of-its-kind space to serve residents across Ferry County. From access to education and technology to safe community space and childcare for working families, this facility will help meet some of the community’s most critical needs.

Currently, there are no licensed childcare facilities in Ferry County, meaning many families must travel long distances or find alternative solutions. This project will help change that.

Kinross’ contribution represents the largest private investment to-date and helps position the project to successfully secure additional state and federal funding.

Ferry County Community Update (2025 + what’s ahead in 2026)!

Kinross Kettle River Operations is proud to call Ferry County home, and we’re grateful for the support and partnership we’ve felt across the community over the years. Here’s a quick look back at some highlights of 2025, and a brief glimpse of what you can expect for the future:

✅ Growing our team: 27 → 44 employees in 2025 (+63%)
✅ Giving back: $58,500 donated (monetary + in-kind) and 3,200+ volunteer hours
✅ Supporting local business: $3.6M spent with Ferry County businesses in 2025

As we look ahead, there is real momentum and excitement as we ready for a return to production. Over the next couple of years, you may notice more permitted activities at our sites, including facility upgrades and construction as well as continued exploration and development as we prepare responsibly for the next phase. We’re working toward bringing Kettle River - Curlew into production in 2028.

This holiday season, a lot of small acts of generosity added up to something really special.

Thanks to our employees (and a little company match), gifts were delivered to seniors in local assisted living and nursing homes, as well as to kids and elders in the Republic and Curlew area who could use a little extra help this time of year.

A big thank-you to the folks who organize the Republic and North County Sharing Trees, and to Ferry County Health and MJ’s Nursing Home for welcoming us in and allowing us to be part of their holiday efforts.

Kinross is grateful to be part of such a caring community, and proud to work alongside people who quietly look out for their neighbors.
