Lookin back on this last stair tread order I sure did hit a lot of metal. From your typical nails to steel strand cable, these carbide blades I sourced through Dan at are proving they are worth all they cost and more. Cutting on anything else I’d be downed after nail strike one or two. I think I put 9-11 strikes become pulling this band off.

Little maintenance keeps that saw blade spinning. Here I’m changing out my drive belt as it wears out over time. If you want to switch blade l**e to diesel be sure you change out to using chemical resistant belts otherwise you’ll be throwing blades left and right. Ask me how I learned that.
Also, I say ‘blade l**e’ as a convention, it’s really a blade cleaner and nothing does better running through pitchy pine.

The Saga of Silver Maple. Nothing fantastic here from a milling perspective but there was enough that on a day off it was worth helping a buddy and haul out a load of squirrely logs.

In all likelihood I’m going to keep these set off to the side and do some sparring experiments with.

I’ve worn safety toe my entire adult life. Aside from being able to kick things hard and the occasional protection from squished toes, this is the first time I’ve been saved in a major way.
Cutting up brush in a dump trailer to consolidate the load I lost track of my foot under everything. Didn’t feel anything with the saw going through the leather and sole but once it hit the steel toe I stopped real quick. One mistake can go with you for life and precautions are worth taking. Thanks for saving my toes

Turning logs into piles of lumber. There’s nothing quite like cutting pieces of wood into smaller pieces of wood.

I brought the portable sawmill out to River Falls WI today and got to turn two black walnut trees into future lumber for hobbies woodworking projects. The metaphorical cherry on top of the pipe is a 8x8x12 splayed elm beam

Prep Christmas parade setup, it was a cold one! Thanks to and .grace for the help one the setup. One more parade next week and the mill can get set back up in its home.

Why are my captions having such a hard time generating since a month ago!? No captions for us is guess. Anyway, this is a log a picked to get sectioned into lumber and run as the local Christmas parade float.

Thanksgivings getting a little extra effort this year, unlike the last two weeks of my effort towards Instagram.

We have three turkeys to cook up and opposed to peanut oil as in years past I’m switching it up by doing a turkey in beef tallow and one in lard. Same seasonings but I’m hungry to taste the difference. Third bird gets a generic roasting in the oven, like the basic bird that it was.
