You completed IRS Form 433—but where should you send it?

There is no single address for every Form 433. The correct destination depends on which form you completed, why you’re submitting it, and which IRS office is handling your case.

Sending it to the wrong place could delay your case or cause the IRS to treat your response as missing.

In this short video, I explain how to determine where your Form 433 should go and why you should always keep a complete copy and proof of submission.

If you owe more than $50,000, have multiple unfiled returns, have been assigned a Revenue Officer or face active IRS enforcement, my firm may be able to help. You can contact us by clicking the link - https://go.jablonskytaxrelief.com or calling (972) 821-1991.

Thinking about settling your IRS debt through an Offer in Compromise?

Unfortunately, owing more than you can afford to pay does not automatically mean the IRS will accept your offer. Your assets, allowable expenses, future income—and even money you previously spent or transferred—can affect the outcome.

In this video, I explain five common reasons Offers in Compromise are rejected and what you should understand before applying.

The IRS may count money you no longer have when reviewing an Offer in Compromise.

Retirement withdrawals, property sales, inheritances and transfers to family members can sometimes increase the amount the IRS expects you to pay.

In my latest video, I explain the IRS “dissipated assets” rule and what you should review before submitting an offer.

If your business owes payroll taxes, you may think the debt belongs only to the company. That is not always the case.

The IRS Trust Fund Recovery Penalty can make certain owners, officers and employees personally responsible for part of the unpaid payroll taxes—even if the business is an LLC or corporation.

In my latest video, I explain who may be at risk, what the IRS means by “responsibility” and “willfulness,” what happens during a Form 4180 interview, and why you should never ignore Letter 1153.

If your business has fallen behind on payroll taxes, waiting can turn a business problem into a personal financial problem.

What happens when your IRS collection case moves to Appeals?

You may have an opportunity to challenge a levy, federal tax lien, rejected payment plan, or Revenue Officer decision—but IRS appeal deadlines can be very short, and different types of appeals provide different protections.

In this video, I explain the difference between a Collection Due Process hearing and a CAP appeal, what happens during the Appeals process, and what you should have prepared before your case is reviewed.

Are you self-employed and behind on your taxes?

One missed return can gradually turn into several years of unfiled returns and growing IRS debt. When that happens, it can be difficult to know where to begin—especially if your business records are incomplete or you cannot afford to pay the full balance.

In my latest video, I explain five steps that can help you determine what the IRS already knows, reconstruct your business records, file the required returns, stop creating new tax debt and evaluate your resolution options. Your IRS debt has been resolved. Now what?

Getting an installment agreement approved, settling through an Offer in Compromise, or paying off a large IRS balance can provide tremendous relief. But if the underlying tax and cash-flow problems are not corrected, a new balance can develop faster than many taxpayers expect.

In this video, I explain seven steps you can take to stay compliant, protect your resolution, reduce unnecessary audit risks, and avoid another IRS tax crisis.

Watch the video below, and feel free to share it with someone who may find it helpful.

If your spouse owes the IRS, can the IRS come after you for the debt?

The answer depends on several important details.

Marriage alone generally does not make you personally responsible for tax debt your spouse incurred before the marriage. But if you signed a joint tax return, the IRS can usually pursue either spouse for the entire unpaid balance—not merely half.

Your spouse’s debt may also affect you if:

• The IRS is attempting to collect tax debt from you for a tax return filed jointly.
• Your spouse failed to report income or claimed improper deductions
• You are separated or divorced but previously filed jointly

In my latest video, I explain when your spouse’s tax debt remains separate, when you could be held responsible, and the important difference between innocent spouse relief and injured spouse relief.
