Life is better when you can flex your talents.

How do strengths shape daily performance at work?

Gallup’s global workplace data finds that employees who use their strengths daily are six times as likely to be engaged — one of the strongest indicators that strengths influence performance. When employees apply their strongest talents in their role, productivity rises.

But that experience is far from universal. As of May 2025, just one in three U.S. employees say they get to do what they do best every day.

My mom passed away 17 years ago today from complications of diabetes. She also suffered from dementia her last 6 years. Dementia is death by a thousand cuts.

After mom passed, we took care of Hub's mom for 10 years as she slowly lost cognition. She forgot the cat’s name, Licorice, and bestowed him with many other great choices like Chittybago, Zhivago, Trivago, and more. Then she forgot my name, and I became ‘Dear." “We took care of her from 2009 to 2019.

It's not the Holidays until I get my tree up every year for the Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce | Richfield, Utah Festival of Trees. Been doing it since 2011 with Ken Rhodes | Southern Utah. Some years I stick with the Cowboy theme. Other years it's Jingle Bell Rock or a Victorian carol singer. Stop by thru Thursday night at the Sevier Valley Center.

As we do every year, we've decorated a tree for the Richfield Area Chamber of Commerce | Richfield, Utah annual Christmas Tree Lane at the Sevier Valley Center. It will be up until we take it down on Friday, so if you want to see it up close, feel free to drop by and enjoy the other offerings of this annual event while you're there!

Diversity is our strength. Happy Independence Day as we celebrate today and remember our great country's first motto, E Pluribus Unum - Out of many, one.

This is cousin Florence Macbeth who sang the Star Spangled Banner at the first ever public perfomance of the anthem. She was a soloist with the NY Oratorio Society. It took a commission of 5 composers including Sousa to come up with the final definitive music we use today to go with the lyrics. It was performed by Macbeth and the NY Philharmonic on December 5, 1917 at a Carnegie Hall celebration to honor our allies during WWI.
