Words matter. Trust matters. Community matters. Thank you to everyone who joined my sessions at the Wisconsin Nonprofit Conference. I left energized by the commitment nonprofit leaders and consultants have to creating spaces where people feel valued, heard, and connected.

It was so good to connect with other people serving their communities in various ways.

This was our first WACAC MIDWest Conference 2026, and it was great to share about when we better understand ourselves, we can be better for one another every day.

Thank you to the UEDA for inviting us to kick off your Emerging Topics series!

Laurice and I loved the opportunity to spend time with such an engaged and reflective group. The energy in the room and the thoughtful discussions reminded us how important these conversations are.

Our session focused on how you show up matters. Together, we explored how our attitudes, assumptions, and habits impact trust, communication, collaboration, and results with clients and colleagues. Through reflection and dialogue, participants identified mindset shifts and practical strategies they can immediately apply in their work.

We are grateful for the opportunity to share this message and to learn alongside such a thoughtful audience. Thank you again, UEDA, for having us!

While in-person work is often our favorite way to connect, there is something to be said for the flexibility and accessibility of virtual learning and coaching.

At Yes...And LLC we come to our clients whenever possible because relationships and connection matter. But when coaching leaders across multiple sites, virtual sessions create a more convenient and cost-effective way to stay connected, continue growing, and support leaders in real time without the added travel.

Grateful to -Milwaukee: National Association of African-Americans in Human Resources - Milwaukee Chapter, Alvin Hill, Jr., and Dorlisa Marshall, MSID, MBA, SPHR for inviting me to speak to the group this evening. I especially appreciated the multigenerational perspectives and gratitude that were shared throughout the conversation.

Different formats. Same intentional conversations. Same meaningful growth.

And yes…it is May and I am in a sweater! 🥶

Spent today with an educational leadership team digging into CQ Behavioral Preferences building self-awareness and then putting it into practice through real school-based conflict scenarios.

What became clear? Tension doesn’t come from bad intent. It comes from different ways of showing up, different expectations, and different assumptions.

The shift we worked on: getting curious, not furious. When teams understand how they and others show up, they can respond with intention and that’s where better collaboration (and better outcomes for students) begin.
