It’s a funny thing, work.

For many of us, it is a means to an end. We have to work to… you know, to afford our lifestyle, etc.

You spend 40 hours a week and hopefully you have a little integrity for what you do, maybe you like part or all or most of your tasks, maybe whatever you do gives you joy or a sense of purpose and meaning.

If you’re lucky, you get to do this work alongside a handful of reasonable humans- people you’re plucked from your real life and sat beside for hours, days… years.

If you’re really, truly lucky- maybe one of those reasonable humans is instead a kindred spirit- and maybe fortune will shine upon you and give you 18 years at her side.

Ten days ago, we lost one of our own- the perpetually beautiful, fantastic and fierce Lori Brazell.

Lori’s most recent title was “logistics and distribution coordinator” but in addition to that, throughout her nearly two-decade tenure with Barnard Griffin she worked in the tasting room, events and accounting.

We know the phrase “she lit up the room” is often bandied about at times like this, but there is absolutely no one besides Lori who could be accurately described in such a way. Not like her.

Lori was as kind and wonderful as she was stunning - she was funny and smart and interesting, she cared about the world and the people in her life and she made *everything* better. She was a terrific coworker, an amazing friend and an even better person. The world is worse off without her, there is no way to spin it, no silver-lining to be had- we will miss her every day and somehow still can’t believe this has happened.

We love you, Lori. We always will.
