We were thrilled to attend the Lumber River State Park's ribbon cutting last Friday!

As designers, we spend a lot of time and energy on designs that live on our screens and in our conversations. To be able to finally see an exhibit in person is rewarding, but to see crowds of people explore it is an added bonus.

If you're in the area, go check out Lumber River State Park's new visitor center! We're really proud of how it turned out.

It was such an honor to attend the ribbon-cutting ceremony today for the completed Chesapeake Historical Village we designed in partnership with Hanbury and the incredibly engaged descendants.

The City of Chesapeake Government had important stories to tell and our team enjoyed the opportunity to help interpret them in unique ways. For example, the trees you see in the first photo represent 22 freedom-seekers who escaped to Philadelphia with the help of Captain Fountain, an Underground Railroad operative.

If you are nearby Chesapeake, take some time to visit the new interior and exterior exhibits!

Happy Fourth of July! 🇺🇸

As our nation marks 250 years, we're grateful to have worked on projects that explore the many people, places, and perspectives that have shaped the American story.

IllumiNATION at the Virginia Museum of History & Culture transformed the museum's facade into a nighttime storytelling experience, celebrating 250 years of American history through light, projection, and music.

We the People, also at VMHC, explores the many ways immigrants have helped shape our country and reminds us that America's story has always been one of many voices and experiences.

Today also marks the opening of Revolutionary Valley at the Museum of the Shenandoah Valley. Through remarkable artifacts and personal stories, the exhibition examines how people across the Shenandoah Valley experienced the American Revolution and how its ideals continued to influence the generations that followed.

We're proud to partner with museums that create opportunities to learn, reflect, and connect with history.

Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day!

On May 18, the City of Holladay, Utah celebrated the ribbon cutting of Rooted Together, a new immersive public experience that brings the community’s history and identity to life.

Our team at Riggs Ward partnered with ACME, our fabrication/installation partner, to create a cohesive visitor experience rooted in Holladay’s rich history and strong sense of community. Through in-depth research, site analysis, and narrative development, our team developed a series of interpretive and interactive elements that invite visitors to explore Holladay’s unique story.

We’re proud to have been part of this meaningful project and grateful to everyone who helped bring it to life. If you’re in Utah, be sure to visit Rooted Together and experience it for yourself!

It was so great to visit the completed Colin G. & Nancy N. Campbell Archaeology Center in Colonial Williamsburg yesterday! This new project is dedicated to all the hard work that goes into new discoveries, encouraging community curiosity through art laboratories, modern equipment, and artifact analysis.

We are proud to have partnered on this remarkable project, contributing exhibit design, graphics, and digital media experiences throughout the center.

Upon entering, visitors are welcomed by four immersive videos that introduce the space and provide insight into the archaeology lab's work and discoveries.
Our team collaborated on a wide range of interpretive experiences, including the Wall of Wonder and the 17th-Century Gallery, helping transform archaeological stories into engaging visuals.

We would like to thank the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation for the opportunity to collaborate on such an impactful project, connecting visitors with centuries of history through innovative and immersive experiences.

Last night, we got to witness IllumiNATION light up Virginia Museum of History & Culture for its test run before the public showings next week.

This immersive projection experience transforms the museum's facade into a storytelling canvas, bringing moments from American history to life through light, imagery, and music.

Swipe through for highlights from the evening, along with a few behind-the-scenes moments from the setup and preparation that helped bring the experience to life.

And don't worry, you still have opportunities to see it yourself!

IllumiNATION officially starts next week, June 25-28 as part of the museum's free block party celebration leading up to America's 250th anniversary. Each evening features live music, food trucks, family activities, after-hours museum access, and the projection experience beginning at 9 PM.

We're proud to have played a key role in this exciting project and look forward to seeing more audiences experience it next week.

Please consider donating to this remarkable organization to honor the sacrifice of the Bedford Boys on D-Day. Twenty young men from Bedford, Virginia lost their lives on that fateful day. For such a small town, the loss was devastating. Riggs Ward is honored to be collaborating with the National D-Day Memorial on its latest exhibit.
