Baby Yours

Baby Yours Postpartum, Birth & Bereavement Doula support I have a passion for babies and helping new families.

I've been a Postpartum Doula since 2011 and I added Birth & Bereavement Doula services to my offerings in 2013. I have additional training in lactation counseling, acupressure, Rebozo, and handling trauma. The Postpartum Doula is a trained professional that offers physical, emotional, and spiritual support to a new mother and the rest of the family. Postpartum Doulas also offer breastfeeding suppo

rt, light household maintenance, family nurturing and instruction to mom and/or other family members in the care of a newborn. The Postpartum Doula’s job is to make the transition to parenthood easier for new parents, to help mom during her recovery period and to ascertain what the family needs help with and provide the instruction. The main objective of the Postpartum Doula’s role is not to take over complete care of the newborn, but to educate and support the family so that they will feel empowered to care for their newborn themselves. - from http://www.cappa.net/

In addition to that, I can help with education in cloth diapering, baby wearing, prevention of postpartum depression, natural products, gentle parenting, and/or healing from a traumatic birth. It is important that families get the support they need, even if they didn't have a happy outcome. As a bereavement doula, I help support them through miscarriage, fatal diagnosis, stillbirth, NICU stays, and even situations like adoption.

I am not a myth. And I don't judge.

"Imagine someone that comes in to your home and loads the dishwasher after dinner while you and your husband spend time alone together before bed. Someone who sometimes knows what you need even before you say it. Imagine a person is trained in newborn care that you can trust to keep a watchful eye on your baby while you get the rest you need. Someone who can be a helping hand when your husband is away working and you need someone to be there with you.

This person is not a myth or an enigma. This is a postpartum doula. She can be there with you and your growing family every step of the way, or just in the moments you know you will need extra support."
