Most of Richmond was asleep for this one.
Overhead sign structures come down at night for one reason: that's when the lanes are available. Which means the whole job runs against a clock, traffic control set, crane in position, rigging checked, the old structure off and the new one set, all inside a window that closes whether you are finished or not.
It also means working by floodlight on a shoulder with a 160-ton machine, where every person on the ground has to stay visible to every other person for the entire shift.
By the time traffic came through in the morning, there was nothing to see. That's the job done right.
Route 360, overnight. Virginia infrastructure, maintained by people most drivers will never meet.
