Cecily Tyson, born on December 19, 1924, in Harlem, New York, embarked on a groundbreaking career that spanned over seven decades. One of Tyson's most iconic roles came in the 1974 film "The Autobiography of Miss Jane Pittman," where she portrayed the titular character across different stages of her life, from slavery to the Civil Rights Movement. Her transformative performance earned her two Emmy Awards and solidified her as a force to be reckoned with in Hollywood.
