Big news: I’ve retired as of June 1! I want to thank everyone in the association and nonprofit communities who have supported, mentored, taught, and worked alongside me for nearly 40 years— from my first days as editor and communications director at Izaak Walton League of America up till my last days as a marketing and communications consultant for my own firm. I’ve tried my best to serve the worthy missions of dozens of organizations, and despite high stress and long hours, the journey has been meaningful and joyful.
I hope I’ve made a difference in that world, and I’m still open to occasional writing or editing, if asked, but now I’m amping up my volunteerism for pro-democracy and voting access groups such as the League of Women Voters and individual political campaigns. I’ll also continue spending a day a week volunteering in our public schools.
With tears of gratitude in my eyes, I want to especially thank—however inadequately—some of my most influential mentors and supporters: Sarfati, , , , , , , , , Kim Hulcher, and my former colleagues at , , , and American Fisheries Society, in particular.
Andy won’t be retiring for quite some time, God willing, so this is a new chapter for us as a family. I’m excited at how I can strive to make a positive difference at this difficult and disturbing time in our country.
Thank you again! Please stay connected to me via my personal Facebook or [email protected].
