A woman who drowned while kayaking with her boyfriend in Tomales Bay near Point Reyes is being remembered as “someone who lived fully and fearlessly,” according to a GoFundMe page.
Brigitte Manspeaker, 37, died after windy weather whipped up waves and the couple’s kayak capsized. Her boyfriend, who was airlifted out of the water by a rope and helicopter, told deputies that Manspeaker had slipped out of her life jacket.
“Brigitte would always seek out new adventures and find joy in the simple beauty of the world around her. Whether she was hiking a new trail, swimming in open water, or traveling to a place she’d never been before, she would be sure to honor her surroundings and show gratitude,” the GoFundMe writes.
