Trapped In My Head

Trapped In My Head Humor, wisdom and a bit of inspiration...at least that’s the goal. Be blessed!

Here is an update of what's going on...

Many of you know, and some do not, my weekly column can be found in The Richton Dispatch, The Green County Herald. The George County Times, The Stone County Enterprise, and The Post Newspaper.

Also, Lake Gracie Adventures is in the trusted hands of the editor currently. This is a collection of kid's stories with Biblical truths, coloring pages and activity pages. Coming soon!

While working on Trapped In My Head Too, the follow up to my first book, I have shed a few tears. However today, I read something that tickled my funny bone. For context it happened in the hours immediately following a cardiac ablation. Medication was involved, as well as my own quirky way of thinking.

"While you are lying still, you are coming off the lingering effects of the anesthesia. While you are lying still you are being observed by nurses almost constantly. Let’s cut to the chase: someone is looking under the bed covers about every fifteen minutes, observing you in your natural state, to verify that you are not losing blood.

The risk of bleeding out is very high.

The risk of having any dignity left over at the end of the day is very low.

I was in the room staring out the window, lying still and flat on my back, just in case I had not mentioned that. I observed the clouds high over Hattiesburg. Some people see animals. Some people see shapes. On this particular day I saw Jesus…and He was holding a chicken. " FROM TRAPPED IN MY HEAD TOO, I'M STILL HERE

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

I recently had one of my crazy videos receive over 200k views and I picked up a ton of new followers. With that said, I would like for Facebook to do its thing...

We are planning to attend a family function in North Carolina. Proposed route is to go through Atlanta, stay on I-20 all the way to Columbia, SC and then turn north on I-77, go around Charlotte, and head on to Albermarle.

If you are in that area or familiar with it in its current state, please weigh in. This is NOT the time for one of my buddies to carry on junk with me. When I get this serious business done, we will do that. Thank you in advance!

Many of you know that I am working on the follow-up to Trapped In My Head. This book will be a bit longer and in a slightly different format, but it will still be full of my life's stories, wisdom and humor.

In addition, I started a study on scripture, non-denominational and non-confrontational. It is in the works also.

With that said, I recently got quite an inspiration for a series of children's books. I truly believe it was a Divine nudge. Each story introduces a character who lives on Lake Gracie...well, a couple of them live on Thompson Creek.

Each story has a Bible verse to back up the moral of the story. I really think I am on to something. Time will tell. My plan is for each book to be four or five pages and have at least two coloring pages. At the end of the book there will be three questions to ask your little ones to make sure they fully understand the lesson being taught.

As you hear me say often: Stay Tuned!

Friends, I was "macked" so I changed my password and we are starting over. If something crazy shows up, please understand and just let me know and I will delete it. Notice I did not use the H word. There are several keywords that will trigger bots and the H word is one of them. I am slowly learning the others. If you want to try and see the bots in action, make a post using the H word and give it a little time. What looks like crazy people will come from all around...but it is some type of AI at work.

You know I'm going somewhere with this. I am going TWO somewheres with this actually...

One: The most important one of all is that the devil is seen as an angel of light. He will not come to you with horns and a pitchfork looking like something out of a horror movie. He will come to you as the best thing since sliced bread. Be sober. Be vigilant. Your adversary is out to get you!

Two: We are in the midst of political season. Gas prices drop, school shootings increase. Look it up. Don't believe what you see or hear. Do your own fact checking. Just because I do not support the Dems way of doing business, does not mean I think Trump is the savior, nor am I a fascist. Just because I think Harris is a giggling bumbling goofball does not mean I am a racist. DO NOT LET THE MEDIA DIVIDE US ANYMORE THAN HAS ALREADY HAPPENED. Our choices are our choices...choose prayerfully and wisely.

Third: This one is very important as well... People are hurting today all over the place: worldwide, statewide, and your neighbor. Be kind. Pray for them. One day it will be you...
..be blessed

Isaiah 52:14 As many were astonied at thee; his visage was so marred more than any man, and his form more than the sons of men:

Our generation of war movies and special effects, AI and video games thinks we have seen some gruesome images. This verse tells me that Christ was beaten worse than any one ever has been. People who saw Him were dismayed, astonished, desolate, appalled and awestruck. Yet He willingly went through it all, looking down through time if only to see YOU. The least required of us is to surrender TO and live FOR Him. That's really not a lot to do is it?

The first sentence of verse 15 says "So shall He sprinkle many nations;" That means His Blood was enough to cover us ALL. Don't ever think you have gone too far that He can't reach you. Don't ever think you have been so bad that He can redeem you. He died for me, for you, for Putin, Un, your neighbor, your coworker, for Harris and for Trump.

He IS enough.

Happy Monday and have a great week!
..be blessed

A Day Fit For A King

I have known some amazing people in my lifetime. As I sit at the keyboard tonight, Mr. King Everett comes to mind. King worked for my dad off and on doing farm chores. He didn’t want to be called “Mister King”. He was honest, God-fearing, and one of the hardest workers I’ve known. I’ll never forget the first time I was sent to help build fence at the Wade place. I told Mom there was no need to pack a lunch for me. I was a healthy strong teenager and King had to be in his seventies or eighties. We’d be home by noon. She raised one eyebrow and grinned for knew me well; and she knew what kind of man King was. By twelve, I was miserable, burnt, and ready to quit. King sat quietly in the truck eating ham hocks and light bread. When he noticed I didn’t have lunch with me, he offered to share his. After eating, he read from the Bible that was on the dash. By twelve thirty we were back at it. He worked at a steady pace and handled cross ties like matchsticks. It was around that time I had what educated folks call a “paradigm shift”. My dad would’ve called it an attitude adjustment. I realized what a treasure I was spending the day with. I started asking questions about the olden days, civil rights, the Bible, fence-building…and ham hocks with light bread. I purposed that day to always give him 100 percent effort and respect. At five, I could hardly walk into the house. King dropped me off and went home to tend to his own chores. We worked together many times over the years and I still retain some of the lessons he taught me. From more fences that had to be built, to riding the woods accounting for the cattle, we could often be found together. He had a wisdom about him that only hardship, life experience, and the grace of God can instill. We lost touch somewhere along the way, but I hope he knew what an impact he made on me.
