Yesterday it was 6 years ago that her journey ended from a long battle of Alzheimer's and, ultimately, Dementia. My Mom, one of my biggest challengers of my life to make me more than I ever thought I could be.

When you are a caregiver of such a horrible disease that has no end in sight, no relief and robs a family of the memories made.... it is not hard to understand that this anniversary can come and go.

It seems like just yesterday, when I had slept on the floor for the last 10 days of her life caring for her.

Contrary to what others may believe, when a disease slowly robs a life / family.... the mourning has already been done by the time they pass and the joy / celebration begins knowing they have gone by home to their loved ones and to be with the LORD.
