SOLAR: if you are a HILCO customer, and have considered solar, know that HILCO does not offer perpetual net metering. This means that if you over produce electricity that is sent to the grid, HILCO will not credit you outside of a billing period. The electricity that you give to the grid, is sold to another customer, and when you need those built up credits in the winter and summer months, you will not have them. However, as I spoke to the person who is over this department at HILCO, he said they are considering two options. HILCO Electric Cooperative, Inc., is a member owned coop. Lets make sure as customer/members, that we hold them to their word in a timely fashion. If you would like to get involved. Contact me and we will flood their exclusive meetings with the member/owners.
