ASK Riverside City Councilmembers to REMOVE Item #8 FROM the CONSENT CALENDAR!
On November 5, the City Council item #8 on the CONSENT CALENDAR will limit virtual call-in public comment to one 3-minute comment during General Public Comment for all items on the agenda. However, people at the meeting are given 3-minutes for General Public Comment plus 3-minutes for every other public comment item on the agenda.
ISSUES
* All of us should get the time we're entitled to comment on City Council agenda items whether we can be in the chamber or not
* Councilmember Falcone originally recommended eliminating all call-in public comment because at $10,000 per year there was not a good return on investment because not enough people were calling in
* Community members have already offered to pay for this access to public comment but it was still put on the agenda.
Attached you will find a wealth of information including an eComment email sent this morning with many reasons to refute this action.
