Bad compressor??? 💀🪦

There can be several ways to verify a bad compressor. For this situation we used the Megohm test. For you NERDS, that’s 1,000,000 ohms.

Here’s a general guideline for homes.
Over 10 megohms, 👍
2-10 megohms 🤞
Under megohms đź’€

As you can see here, this one registered 0!

***NOTE***
Make sure you check the leads ON the actual compressor, as well, as those can be damaged and are much easier and cheaper to fix.

Check out this beast!
We even used the crane to get this guy up here!

This is an economizer for a 7 1/2 ton unit on top of the church we’re working for. A lot of places just have hood vents that allow fresh air to come in while the system is running to meet code. However, they’re not always the most economical and efficient thing to do for the long-term.

They work a bit like an automatic whole house fan. When it detects the temperature and humidity is below a certain threshold, it will use outdoor air to cool off the building. However, as soon as it detects that it is too warm outside, it will shut its dampers And allow very little fresh air to come in. Just enough to make sure the air is not stagnant in the building.

So if you’re replacing a rooftop unit, I’d heavily recommend looking into this as an option.

PSA: if getting a heat pump installed, expect to get some water outside when the system is in heat mode. Just like the inside produces condensation when cooling house, the outside produces condensation when heating the house.

For this home owner we were able to install a drain pan and re direct the water to the drainage system.

HVAC nerds will understand how epic this is, and customers will love the lower bills and better comfort…

We measured, wait, sorry, we COULDN’T measure how low the duct leakage was on our equipment and duct system!!!

It was measuring soooo low that this very expensive measuring tool couldn’t measure it!!
Veeeeeery excited to see how our customers bills go down, and how much more comfortable they’ll be.

For those who were victims of the LA fires, particularly those who do not qualify to receive FEMA or other federal or state grants.

As I was talking to a Mr. Bradley about this, it came up that many people who have second homes in the Mountain Communities, have their primary homes in the LA area. We know personally of some of our customers who lost their homes in the LA fires.
What a great opportunity to support those that so often support the Mountain Communities.

Wonder why you woke up dead?!?!?

We did a maintenance on a furnace and found it dumping 21 PPM of Carbon Monoxide (CO) into the customer’s home at start up. After running just a bit, the CO alarm would go off. However, the customer just thought the alarm was faulty. This is common!

If you hear those alarms going off, call a professional right away!

Now- our second picture shows the furnace creating 1751 PPM of CO (and it was still going up!) until we had to shut it off. We are required to permanently shut off the furnace at when we catch CO at 400 PPM. This furnace was very dangerous.

What’s really crazy is that many HVAC companies perform maintenances without performing combustion analyzation on the furnace. Ask your HVAC tech if he is completing one the next time your get your system maintenance done!

Stay safe out there and don’t wake up dead!

Thank you Navien!! We had the honor to be selected as the “Contractor of the month” for Navien.

We were not expecting it and were quite thankful. With that we were honored with a quick post game interview, suite tickets, food, drinks and parking!!

What really sweetens the pot is that we were already happy to install their awesome furnaces. Now this!!

Thank you Navien!!
