If you’re not excited about fall here in the Roanoke Region, you’re lying.

Here’s a list of things to be excited for:

- Fall hikes with crunchy leaves and foliage views. Poor Mountain in Roanoke County, Virginia is a good one
- Driving the Blue Ridge Parkway with the windows down and a good playlist
- GO Fest & more specifically The Lumberjack shows at Roanoke GO Outside Festival (Oct 16-18) and other weekend festivals
- Pumpkin patches, cider, ribbon fries… literally everything at Layman Family Farms (Sep 19-Nov 1)
- Obviously taking pictures at the Beaver Dam Farm Sunflowers (Sep 11-20)
- Stone fruits & so. much.pie. Ikenberry Orchards Country Store in Daleville is a GREAT place for that.
- Fall blooms and anything that screams fall. Greenbrier Nurseries is a must.

The truth behind entrepreneurship? It’s not always giving highlight reel.

Being a business owner can be amazing. It can also be exhausting, overwhelming, and a whole lot of figuring it out as you go.

Because some of us aren’t just entrepreneurs.

We’re building businesses while having careers. Raising families. Being partners. Showing up for our communities. Managing responsibilities. And somehow still trying to answer emails, create the content, find the clients, send the invoices, and grow the vision.

Is it worth it? Absolutely.

Every single day? Let’s just say… some days require a little more convincing than others.

That’s why when I talk about entrepreneurship, I’m not giving advice from an empty space. I’m a mom. A partner. A full-time employee. A business owner. And about a million other things depending on the day.

I get what it means to build something while still having a whole life to live.
