Please be aware this is only training.
You are welcome too come to the School to watch.

⚠️ Community Notice - Planned Ameren Power Outage ⚠️

The Village of Roanoke would like to make residents aware that Ameren Illinois has scheduled a planned power outage for Wednesday, July 8, beginning at approximately 11:00 PM. The outage is expected to last about six hours while crews safely replace or repair a utility pole.

As a community, let’s take a few simple steps to prepare:
🔹 Charge cell phones, tablets, and other essential devices before the outage begins.
🔹 Keep flashlights handy and avoid using candles whenever possible.
🔹 If you rely on medical equipment that requires electricity, make arrangements in advance.
🔹 Minimize opening refrigerators and freezers to help keep food cold.
🔹 If you encounter utility crews working overnight, please slow down, give them plenty of room, and help keep them safe as they work to improve our electric infrastructure.

These planned outages can be an inconvenience, but they allow utility crews to complete important work safely and help improve the reliability of our electric service for the future.

As always, let’s continue to look out for our neighbors, especially seniors or anyone who may need a helping hand during the outage.

Thank you to the Ameren crews who will be working overnight to complete this project safely, and thank you to our residents for your patience and understanding.

Thank you everyone!
Our pork chop sale went very well, thank for your support!
Your firefighters were busy, we had the pork chop cookout, along with standing by so everyone could enjoy the amazing fireworks show, and then running several calls for power lines and trees down on the westside of town after the strom rolled thru.. No one was injured but several trees and powerlines were down.
Thank you to Woodford EMA, for your assistance with the calls and keeping us informed of anymore storms approaching.
Everyone stay safe, and we will see you today July 4th at the parade.

July 2nd 1632 hrs Roanoke Fire was dispatched to 709 W.Davidson for a garage fire attached to the house.
Upon arrival a neighbor was using a garden hose to keep the fire contained to a corner of the garage.
Roanoke arrived on scene with two engines and the Chief. Metamora Fire was on scene with an engine and a Chief.
The fire was contained to the garage with minimal damage. Smoke was thru out the home so ventilation was done to clear it.
With the temperature in the 90's and heat index over 100, there were no injuries.
The home owners were not hurt. Thanks to the neighbor for the quick thinking.
Thank you to both departments for the response, good job!
With this heat think about putting on a thermal shirt and pants and regular clothes, then put on a snowsuit, and go outside.

🌞 Cooling Center Available at Roanoke Village Hall 🌞

With dangerously high temperatures expected across Central Illinois this week, the Village of Roanoke wants to remind our residents that Village Hall is available as a cooling center for anyone who needs a safe, air-conditioned place to escape the heat.

Your health and safety are our top priority. If you or someone you know does not have adequate air conditioning, please don’t hesitate to stop by and cool off. We also encourage everyone to check on elderly neighbors, friends, and family members, as well as anyone who may be more vulnerable to the extreme heat.

💧 Remember to:
• Stay hydrated by drinking plenty of water.
• Limit outdoor activities during the hottest part of the day.
• Never leave children or pets in a parked vehicle.
• Watch for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke.

Roanoke has always been a community that looks out for one another. A simple phone call, text, or visit to check on a neighbor can make all the difference during extreme weather.

Please stay safe, stay cool, and take care of one another.
