These calves were selected from a very reputable farm that focuses on herd health and great genetics- the only kind of cattle I’m interested in. The second half of the herd comes in just over a week from another farm with the same focus on success. Good to finally start refilling the barn!

The last steps are complete! Gates are all set back up, outside corral is ready, fresh straw bedding laid down, a bale in the ring, and a new camera installed for security and extra monitoring. 4 days left!

6 more days until the first calves arrive! Taking advantage of the empty barn, I’ve updated a lot of the electrical inside the barn, added some lights, stationed the new self feeder, and filled it with feed. A few more things to do and we’ll be ready to kick off 💪

Got a new (to me) cow uber today! The previous owner set the bar pretty high and took immaculate care of it. Now to wash off all the road grime/salt that i just put on it today..
