You know what’s cool? Neighbors helping neighbors. And we’re not just talking about fire departments…

At approximately 5:50pm yesterday, Roberts Fire, Joliet Fire, and Red Lodge Fire were paged out for a wildland fire in the Paradise Meadows subdivision in Roberts. It was a large showing by all departments and the fire progress was halted before it could damage any structures.

Now, back to neighbors helping neighbors…
As we arrived on scene, there were countless neighbors out there with shovels and hoses trying to help stop the spread toward structures. Their assistance in this fire was crucial, and we would like to extend our thanks! Once the calm after the storm came, those same people were there with ice cold water for all of the firefighters.

Solid work by everyone involved.

Please read for your information!

Carbon County's burn permit system has been shut down due to the extreme heat forecasted this weekend. Unless fuel and weather conditions improve, the system may be shut down for the remainder of the summer.

Closure of the system means no burning debris or clearing fields for personal or agricultural purposes. Recreational fires less than 48 inches in diameter and contained by rock, brick, cinder block, etc. are still allowed but must be monitored closely and extinguished completely when finished.

Let's use fire cautiously as we move into the hotter and dryer part of summer. Thank you.

Happy 4th of July! We hope you all have a safe and happy day of celebration.

You might be thinking to yourself, “Oooh Roberts Fire is posting red, white, & blue photos in honor of the 4th of July!”

And, really, how patriotic of these photos to turn out with such colors…but alas, we are simply posting these photos to let you know what we were up to last night. (Or was it this morning? Hard to tell.)

At approximately 1:30am, Roberts Fire sent 8 firefighters to contain and extinguish a 6 acre grass fire. The cool conditions and lack of wind were favorable.

Even in the middle of the night we have a sprightly crew that’s always willing to be there, so if you need us, call us!

The week of the 4th is upon us, so here’s your friendly reminder to be safe and responsible with fireworks!
