It’s fire prevention week! 🔥🚒🧯

We had the pleasure of teaching (and having some fun) with Roberts School, yesterday. Charging safely, testing smoke detectors, having escape plans and meeting points were some of the topics we discussed.

Thanks to our volunteers and cadets for leading in fire safety!

Monday night training: playing with cars! 🚒🚑

Roberts Fire spent the evening practicing multiple scenarios of MVA’s and setting up proper TIM.

MVA = motor vehicle accident
TIM = traffic incident management

The objective of TIM is to work together to create a safe scene for civilians and first responders, and keep traffic flowing safely, when possible. We thank you, in advance, for slowing down and being patient when traveling through emergency scenes!

Over the weekend, we had the opportunity to practice live fire in Red Lodge at the burn building facility. Each year, we make it a point to utilize the building to practice and improve our skills with live fire. This training was a great success, and we left with even more confidence in our firefighting skills.

All of us at Roberts Fire would like to extend our thanks to Red Lodge Fire Rescue; more specially to Tyler Rae, Jason Beug, Joey Bohan, and Amy Hyfield. They gave their time and efforts toward a full day of training with us!

What’s that saying? Team work makes the dream work. 👌🏼

You know what’s cool? Neighbors helping neighbors. And we’re not just talking about fire departments…

At approximately 5:50pm yesterday, Roberts Fire, Joliet Fire, and Red Lodge Fire were paged out for a wildland fire in the Paradise Meadows subdivision in Roberts. It was a large showing by all departments and the fire progress was halted before it could damage any structures.

Now, back to neighbors helping neighbors…
As we arrived on scene, there were countless neighbors out there with shovels and hoses trying to help stop the spread toward structures. Their assistance in this fire was crucial, and we would like to extend our thanks! Once the calm after the storm came, those same people were there with ice cold water for all of the firefighters.

Solid work by everyone involved.
