Our very own Cadet, Rig Elton (pictured in the middle) is in Atlanta this week to compete at the SkillsUSA’s National Leadership & Skills Conference. What is he competing in, you ask? Firefighting, of course!

Rig secured a trip to Nationals by ranking top 3 at the state level. He will be tested through hands-on demonstrations as well as written and oral presentations. Knots, hoses, ladders, breathing apparatus, and fire control are just some of the areas Rig will be tested on. Timed events, as well as knowledge and accuracy will be a challenge that Rig is well equipped to conquer!

Everyone at Roberts Fire is so proud of Rig and will be cheering him on this week! We anticipate he’ll do very well, and we’re not just being biased 😉👨🏻‍🚒

Local landowners have extinguished two grass fires on the side of the highway this week from ci******es, so this is your friendly reminder to please be aware of your actions. We cannot stress enough just how dry the grasses are this year.
Let’s do our best to help ease the fire season burden by staying alert and cautious!

Over the weekend, we sent 6 of our firefighters to the annual Cody Fire School. Some courses our firefighters took this year included: Forcible entry, pump training, wild land, leadership training, fire behavior, advanced SCBA, and LPG fires.

It’s always a good opportunity to learn from these quality instructors so we can take it back home and incorporate into our own department. Plus, it’s fun!

Happy Valentine’s Day! 🚒❣️

Most of you come here to read about what Roberts Fire does around this community, but today we think it’s appropriate to post about what people outside of Roberts Fire do for us.

Rarely do we find ourselves on a scene where no one *outside first responders* stops to see if assistance is needed. A prime example occurred at the structure Fire on 2/11. There were a number of people that stopped to offer assistance to the situation and also to the people directly involved.

All that being said, we would like to take the opportunity to thank our fellow community members for always being willing to offer your assistance in times of emergency. Our rural communities depend on everyone coming together to work toward the greater good. When it comes down to it, everyone is willing to lend a helping hand. We’re proud to live in such a place as this.

Thank you, Roberts Community, and keep up the good work!
