Did you know that nearly every single type of modern computer or tablet offers some form of remote management?
Be it an iPad, Chromebook, iMac, MacBook, or even a Windows device - they all offer various ways that allow IT Deparments to remotely track and control different features of each device.
It has become a common practice among many different entities to enforce policies around remote manage. From JAMF, to Enterprise Management, and everything in between, both manufacturers and third party entities have rolled out platforms designed to keep assets and their respective data protected.
The downside to this comes when you begin decommissioning enrolled assets. Most platforms work off of serial numbers as their form of identification, so if you donโt have an accurate record of those it can become a hassle to distinguish between enrolled and unenrolled devices.
When your decommissioned assets find their way to Computer Systems Asset Disposal, LLC, one of the very first things we do after data sanitization is check for management. This is a key part of our process to ensure that end users do not wind up with products that display the names of our customers.
Quality Control is EVERYTHING to us. When assets are found to still be managed, it is part of our policy to inform our customers and provide them with serial numbers and other asset related information so that they can unenroll their devices.
is our philosophy. We do everything that we can to ensure that we reduce, reuse and recycle appropriately!
