Another heartfelt thank you to Amex Shop Grants program and Main Street America….now that our grant-funded transformation is complete, I’m excited to share the results! Your support has helped transform our space and bring a little more beauty to our downtown. Here are a few before-and-after pictures so you can see the difference!

One of my absolute FAVORITE fall events is almost here ….PORCH FEST!

THIS SUNDAY Rochester turns into one BIG outdoor music festival!

From 12:00–4:30 PM, there’ll be 30+ bands and solo artists playing everything from rock and reggae to country, acoustic, Americana and more ….on stages and sidewalks throughout downtown!

And we are getting in on the action! We’ve got THREE bands taking our stage:

🤘 12:00–1:30 — WITCHES BREW
🔥 Hard Rock

🎸 1:30–3:00 — DIAMOND EDGE
⚡ Classic Rock

🎶 3:00–4:30 — BETTER ROADS
🌴 Rock • Reggae • Americana

And because great live music is even better with great food… Brickhouse Grill will be right here in our parking lot serving up the good stuff!

So grab your friends, bring the family, wander downtown, discover some great local musicians, grab something delicious to eat, and COME HANG OUT WITH US!

💗 NOW THIS is a whole lot of love wrapped up in blankets! 💗

A HUGE shoutout to our amazing friend Carol, who stopped by today with 10 absolutely BEAUTIFUL handmade knit blankets for Project Linus!

And get this… these latest creations bring Carol’s total to right around 100 handmade blankets donated over the past few years!

Carol, you are AMAZING! The time, talent, and love that goes into every single one of these blankets is truly something special. ❤️

Postal Center USA has proudly been a Project Linus drop-off location for the past FOUR YEARS! Project Linus collects handmade quilts, afghans, and fleece blankets and distributes them to local hospitals, facilities, and children in need — giving kids a little extra comfort, warmth, and love when they need it most.

And this mission is especially close to our hearts. Over the years, Project Linus has provided a brand-new handmade blanket to every adopted child through Hometown Holiday Helpers, the charity that Postal Center USA proudly partners with!

So… CALLING ALL CRAFTERS!

If you knit, crochet, quilt, or make fleece blankets and would like to put those crafty superpowers to work for an incredible cause, WE WOULD LOVE YOUR DONATIONS!

HAS YOUR ELEMENTARY STUDENT BROUGHT ONE OF THESE HOME YET?!

The UNCAPPED Elementary School Challenge is officially on… and we can’t wait to see which classroom collects the MOST caps!

The classroom that collects the most caps by the end of October will win a PIZZA PARTY from Charlie’s Pizza! 🍕

But here’s the best part: this isn’t just for the students ….our WHOLE COMMUNITY can get involved!

Hopefully you have been saving those plastic caps and lids! Tell your friends, grandparents, neighbors, coworkers, sports teams ….EVERYONE! Every cap counts, and all those little caps can add up to something BIG for our community.

280 VETERANS. IN ONE DAY. AND WE HAVE ONE MARKET LEFT!

I want to take a minute to talk about something pretty incredible happening right here in Rochester.

This past Tuesday at the Rochester Farmers Market, we welcomed and gave $20 vouchers to more than 280 veterans!!!

280 VETERANS!

That means more than $5,600 in vouchers were put directly into the hands of our veterans in ONE market day...and that money then goes right back into the hands of the farmers and vendors at our market.

THAT is what Vouchers for Veterans is all about!!!

If you aren't familiar with this amazing organization, here's how it works: Veterans come to the market and receive a $20 voucher to shop with the participating farmers and vendors. Our veterans receive fresh, locally grown and produced products, while at the same time supporting the hardworking farmers and vendors in our communities.

It's truly a win-win. ❤️

And Rochester is just one piece of what this organization does!

Vouchers for Veterans is at 73 markets in 17 different locations from September through April. This year alone, they have served close to 2,500 veterans and distributed close to $200,000 in vouchers.

Those are some pretty incredible numbers...but behind every one of those numbers is a veteran, a farmer, a vendor and a community coming together.

AND ROCHESTER...WE HAVE ONE TUESDAY LEFT!

Please take some time next Tuesday to come visit our FINAL Rochester Farmers Market of the season in the Elks parking lot.
