Happy Freedom Day!!!

On Juneteenth, we salute and honor the emancipation of enslaved African Americans.

Our union organizes every day to put an end to the underground economy in construction and ensure it never returns to slave labor. The struggle for freedom for Black folks in America continues.

This is an uphill battle that has been hurting literally thousands of Iowa's public sector workers. These are your kid's teachers, police officers, sheriff's deputies, jailers, road crews, administration workers, and the list goes on. These Chapter 20 laws were created by the Iowa legislature to strip workers rights and cripple public sector unions. I can't even begin to describe how painful it is to sit down with a group of people who have had their Collective Bargaining Agreement stripped by management. Your votes do matter. The people you put in office are the ones who create policies that apply to our everyday lives.
