Many of you already know that my dear wife, Karen, learned that she has breast cancer during her annual mammogram in April. Karen had a double mastectomy on June 21 and has healed fully so now we are on to the next step.
Test results showed that Karen needs chemotherapy to give her the best odds of a complete cure. She will have 8 chemo treatments over 24 weeks followed by 17 daily radiation treatments except for weekends. Then she will need to take an estrogen blocker every day for 5 years.
This regimen has proven very effective in defeating cancer so we are hoping and praying for the best!
Karen and I want to thank everyone for all the calls, texts and prayers.
Thankfully, we have great insurance and Medicare and a good truck!
Ladies—- get your annual mammogram!
