Up for your consideration is a 1880's wall clock. This clock is the best of both worlds. It has an antique case, dial & pendulum but has a battery movement so all you have to do is replace the battery once a year. The original movement was separated from the case many years ago. Make me a reasonable offer and this could be yours.

Just in and ready for your consideration. E.N. Welch large wall clock. This clock was made in the mid 1800's and is a time only. All you will hear with this clock is the soothing tic toc. Been buying some clocks lately. I'm cleaning the movements and oiling them. Some are getting a complete overhaul. You might pay a little more for a clock from a clock shop but you know it is fully serviced.

I think I'm going to cut back on service calls. I've been doing eight every Friday and it's been just too much. I started today at 7:30 and did not get back until after 6pm. Every stop the clocks had big problems. I was behind all day and did not even get a lunch.

Clocks are coming in left and right. The phone won't stop ringing. I'm already out three months. I'm thinking about leaving the phone off until closing time and then return calls. I did not get any repairs done today.

Due to the closing of the only other clock shop in the area, Behind The Times Clocks will be experiencing longer wait times on turn-arounds. Currently, the other shop's customers are picking up their clocks and calling me to repair them. I am overwhelmed, to say the least. It may take a day or two for me to return your call when you leave a message. My phone has been ringing so often, I can’t get any work done. So I won’t be answering the phone, just returning calls as time permits. I wasn't expecting this at this time of my life.

Please, if you cannot be patient about the potentially longer wait time, consider clock shops in Chicago or Madison. I have built my business on customer service and fast turn-around time, and I will continue to do the best I can to be quick.

In some cases, I might suggest you opt for a new movement if available, so you can get your clock back in a few weeks. If your clock needs extensive repair to the movement, I will turn it away if you don’t want a new movement. New movements are exact replacements manufactured in Germany from the same company.

Don't forget to set your clocks forward this Saturday night. Do not move the hour hand to save time because your clock will no longer strike the correct hour. Only use the min. hand. On antique clocks never move the hand backwards.

Behind the times clocks is experiencing three fold growth do to one clock maker passing away and another retiring. Do to this we are having our longest lead times in our history. I’m not getting any younger and don’t move as fast as I use to. If your clock is from 1960 to present day I would recommend having me install a new movement if they are still made. This would be an exact replacement and be ready in about two weeks. On complete rebuilds I am currently out 8 to 10 weeks and lead times are growing as I write this. We also are having shorter hour of operations Monday though Thursday 10 am to 4 pm. Fridays are reserved for service calls on Grandfather clocks.

Just a reminder when setting your clock forward or backwards don't ever move the hour hand. After the time change I always get calls were clocks are not chiming correct time. On antique clocks do not move the minute hand backwards or you will damage the levers. If you are unsure stop the clock for an hour then start it up again. When moving the time forward always stop and wait for the chime or strike before moving ahead. If you don't you can jam up the movement. Just a few tips that will save you money and me time. I am overwhelmed with work do to some clock guys retiring and other passing away. I am currently out 8 weeks and I don't like being past 4 weeks.
