As the days get shorter and the evenings get cooler, something shifts.

We slow down. We linger a little longer around the table. We reach for recipes that fill the kitchen with comforting aromas and bring people together.

That's exactly why we're kicking off our fall cooking class lineup with Italian Comforts.

There’s something special about making pasta, tearing into warm focaccia, and sharing a meal that didn't come from a takeout box. It's slower. It's intentional. And somehow, the conversations always seem a little better.

Maybe that's exactly how fall is meant to begin.

What do you do when there’s no right answer, no “best practice,” and the stakes are high?

That was the question Dr. Cathy Henkenberns explored today at the CMU Charter Schools 2026 Annual Conference in her session, “When ‘Best Practice’ Stops Working.”

One of the highlights? Seeing so many teachers willing to get curious—looking for patterns in challenges with students and bringing that same curiosity to team problems.

Sometimes, when the playbook runs out, curiosity is the place to start.

What happens when you trade the conference room for the kitchen?

An Amway team joined us today for a hands-on culinary team-building lunch. Together, 19 teammates cooked up Souvlaki and Patates Lemonates, then sat down to enjoy what they created.

A little cooking. A lot of conversation and connection.

Sometimes, getting your team out of their usual environment is all it takes to change the energy in the room.
