We had a great time attending the EFCA Great Lakes District Annual Conference!

It was an excellent opportunity to connect with pastors, executive leadership, and church safety team members from across the region. We enjoyed meaningful conversations about the unique safety and security challenges churches face and how DMEC can help churches prepare, prevent, and respond to potential threats.

Today, Tim and I started a Basic Fi****ms Instructors course this week for NITAB. 15 guys, 11 different agencies represented. We will spend the next 5 days getting these guys certified and taught up on modern teaching methodology, drill design and implementation, running qualifications, human factors, use of force, and more. The goal is to return them back to their agency, ready and able to assist and improve their range program.

It’s going to be a good week!

Solid wrap up of Red Dot Pistol Instructor for MTU 8 in McLean County. 

Congratulations to Jesse for walking away with a free slide cut from MapleLeaf his work on the 95 or Better drill. Another shooter walked away with a challenge coin for top shot on Know Thyself, 299/300. 

The departments in this area have and maintain very robust training, with solid instructors, and it shows. Great group of guys to work with over the last couple of days.

Now it’s time to head home and get in the pool, these last couple days have been a gasser with the heat.

The SRO Tool and the new Trijicon, Inc. SRO tool are the go to for properly changing batteries in the SRO. This Smith & Wesson 2.0 is my primary training and teaching gun and has been for the last few years. Fantastic setup with work done by Floyd’s Custom Shop and Apex.

Don’t sleep on the 2.0 Series. Best out of the box polymer pistol on the market.

This Saturday (8/8) we are teaching Red Dot Pistol at our Pecatonica range. Weather is looking perfect, come out and learn with us! If you don’t have a red dot gun or are curious to learn about them, we have loaner guns that are FREE to use, you just provide ammo. This is an open enrollment course.

Defensive Red Dot Pistol is a comprehensive dive into pistol mounted optics and an efficient way to run a red dot gun.

Here is your reminder to check ammo as you are loading. Brand new 5.56, but all bent outta shape. A quick inspection can identify this. Pistol or r***e, FMJ or duty, from any manufacturer. Check your stuff.
