Leadership transitions don't pause your mission, but they can pause everything else if you're not prepared.

A founding executive director announces her retirement. A key hire falls through. The board is scrambling, programs are mid-cycle, and donors are starting to ask questions. This is the moment when a nonprofit either holds steady or begins a slow slide it may not fully recover from.

Fractional C-suite support exists for exactly this window. It's not a stopgap or a placeholder, it's executive-level leadership, on a part-time or contract basis, that keeps your operations, your fundraising, and your relationships with funders on track while you find the right permanent fit.

Fractional leadership gives you that same depth of experience, in our case, 25 to 30-plus years of senior nonprofit management, without the full-time cost. You get the capacity you need, scaled to what your organization actually requires right now.

We've seen transitions handled well and handled poorly. The ones that go well almost always have one thing in common: someone with experience who can walk in, get oriented quickly, and keep the organization moving forward with confidence.

If your organization is heading into a leadership change, or already in the middle of one, it's worth a conversation before the gap gets wider.

There are donors in your database right now who have given you $500 a year for the last five years. Loyal, consistent, appreciate the mission. And based on what wealth screening tells us, a meaningful percentage of them could give ten times that, or more, if someone asked them the right way.

That is not a fundraising problem. It is an information problem.

Year-end is the moment to fix it. Running a wealth screening before your Q4 appeals means you go into those conversations knowing who deserves a personal call instead of a mass email, who should be invited to a meeting before any ask is made, and what kind of gift actually makes sense to discuss.

Building a major gift program does not require starting from scratch. It usually means looking more carefully at what you already have.

We help Maine nonprofits do exactly that, with donor intelligence, a cultivation plan, and support through the full year. If this is the year you want to make that shift, let us talk.

Your next major donor might already be in your database; you just don't know it yet.

Wealth screening isn't a luxury tool for big organizations. It's how small and mid-sized nonprofits stop guessing and start asking the right people for the right amount.

This is what it looks like when strategy meets the room.

Not a slide deck handed over and a handshake goodbye, a real conversation, sitting alongside your team, working through what's actually in the way.

That's where we come in.

Your next major donor is probably already in your database.

That's not a motivational line. It's something we see over and over when we do a proper donor analysis for a Maine nonprofit: someone who's given $250 a year for a decade, or who came to your gala three times and quietly gave nothing else, and who turns out to have the capacity for a $50,000 gift.

The problem isn't that they're hidden. The problem is that no one has had the time or the tools to look.

Reactive fundraising, the kind where you're scrambling before the fiscal year closes, sending the same appeal to everyone on your list, and hoping the numbers work out, doesn't leave room for that kind of thinking. It keeps your team busy without moving the needle.

What changes things is a disciplined look at who's actually in your donor file. Not just their giving history, but their capacity, their relationship with your organization, and what a realistic next ask might look like. That's what our Prospect Research and Wealth Screening work does. On average, organizations uncover donors with $100K+ capacity who've been treated as annual fund prospects for years.

If you're running a development shop of one or two people, you don't have to figure this out alone. That's exactly where we come in.

The first 30 minutes are always free, no obligation, no sales pitch, just an honest conversation about where you are and what might be possible.
