Through Chaberton Cares, we're proud to support the communities where our distributed energy projects are developed. Near our 6 MW Project Seneca in Bartonville, Illinois, we recently contributed $3,000 to Wildlife Prairie Park, a nonprofit dedicated to conservation, education, and recreation that inspires visitors of all ages to connect with and protect the natural world.

Wildlife Prairie Park is home to more than 150 animals native to Illinois and serves as an important steward of wildlife conservation and environmental education across the region. From preserving natural habitats to creating interactive learning experiences that foster appreciation for the outdoors, the park plays a vital role in protecting the ecosystems that make Illinois unique.

Supporting organizations like Wildlife Prairie Park helps create opportunities for education, connection, and long-term stewardship in the communities we serve. Their commitment to conservation and environmental education highlights the lasting impact that local organizations can have on both people and the planet.

Together, we’re making meaningful change in our communities. 🌿

Our series continues with Amee Bearne, senior manager, community impact, who shares her vision for a stronger, more sustainable future.

"It's very important to me that solar and storage become such an important and vital component of moving our grid and our infrastructure into the 21st century," Amee shares.

What drew Amee to Chaberton was a team of experts who are not only at the top of their fields, but united by a shared passion for meaningful, lasting change. When your people are driven by more than a job, the work becomes something truly transformative for future generations.

Chaberton's Project Wellington was the first solar farm reviewed under Suffolk, Virginia’s updated setback requirements, and the Suffolk Planning Commission unanimously approved the 4.99 MW project. ☀️

Wellington reflects a clear standard: thoughtful siting, meaningful buffering, and strong alignment with local priorities. The project was designed to respect its rural surroundings while delivering reliable, local energy.

Expected to power approximately 850 homes annually, this community-scale energy project represents the kind of balanced development that is increasingly important as community solar continues to expand across the Commonwealth. This approval underscores what’s possible when clear policy, strong design, and community engagement come together.

We look forward to advancing the project through the next phase and continuing to build responsibly across Virginia. ⚡

For the second year in a row, Chaberton Energy has been named to Inc.'s Best Workplaces list. 🎉

The recognition means a lot to us because it comes directly from our employees. Our team participated in a survey covering engagement, development and culture, and Inc. Magazine conducted an audit of our benefits package.

Our values are at the center of everything we do. Creativity, excellence, and humanity shape how we hire, how we develop projects, how we treat our partners and the communities we work in, and how we show up for each other.

We're proud of this recognition. We're prouder still of the team that earned it.

After a full day of collaboration and strategy sessions during Team Week, we traded meeting rooms for the Chicago skyline aboard a dinner cruise at Navy Pier. 🌆⛴️

Between the views, laughs, and conversations across teams, the evening was a great reminder of the importance of creating intentional moments for connection as a largely remote team. We left the retreat feeling aligned, energized, and ready to meet big goals.

How do you connect beyond the tactical with colleagues in a remote environment? We're always looking for new ways to engage.
