Roxie's Pet Services

Roxie's Pet Services Caring for the pets in our community is what we love to do. Monica has always had a strong connection with pets. At Roxie's, your pets are our priority.

She grew up with pets and has always tried to save all the injured insects and critters she's come across. Along with her husband, she started a pet rehoming organization, volunteered at the Rowlett Animal Shelter and served on their Shelter Board. During the 2015 tornado of Rowlett, she even helped in search and rescue efforts for missing pets. In the late 90s, she began pet sitting for friends,

family, and co-workers, which eventually led to her answering God's calling to go all-in with pet sitting in April 2016. In July 2016, she left corporate America and started Roxie's Pet Sitting, LLC, with her husband Rick. By Thanksgiving 2017, Rick joined full-time, and the business has grown stronger ever since. Roxie's is a family, veteran, and woman-owned business based in Rockwall, Texas, with a team of 20 employees. They named the business in memory of their beloved Boxer, Roxie, who passed away in Nov. 2015. The Roxie's team honors her memory every day by providing loving services to pet families in the community. Roxie's serves the cities surrounding Lake Ray Hubbard in Texas, including Fate, Heath, Garland, Lavon, McLendon-Chisholm, Mesquite, Rockwall, Rowlett, Royse City, Sachse, Sunnyvale, and Wylie. We look forward to caring for your furry, feathered, finned, scaled, and shelled babies. Be sure to ask about our other businesses, Roxie's Turd Takers and Roxie's Pro Pet Hero.

🌴🌴🌴 Florida is getting one of our favorites 🌴🌴🌴

There are some pet clients who become so much more than clients—and Finn and his family are certainly one of them.

Roxie's has had the privilege of caring for this funny, social, lovable boy since February 2023. And because his parents also attend our church, Finn isn't a pup we only get to see when we're pet sitting. We get Finn sightings in between, too—which makes saying goodbye even harder. 🥹

As his parents began taking longer trips, we knew something about Finn: this boy LOVES people, activity and being social. While our in-home pet sitting services were wonderful for shorter trips, we felt Finn would absolutely thrive in a setting where he could have even more interaction during those longer stays.

So we introduced his family to our friends Danielle Alexander at Doggie R & R, and it turned out to be exactly what we hoped it would be for him.

That's something we believe strongly at Roxie's: it isn't always about keeping the business. It's about doing what's best for the pet. 💜 Sometimes that means we're the perfect fit, and sometimes it means connecting one of our families with another trusted pet professional who can offer exactly what their pet needs.

And Finn? He LOVES his time there. 🐾

Now his parents are beginning a wonderful new chapter as they move to Florida, and while we're genuinely excited for everything ahead of them, we're going to miss this family something fierce.

I got to spend some special time with them this morning over coffee, conversation and prayer—and, naturally, Finn made sure he was right in the middle of it all. 😂 When we joined hands to pray, Finn came over and settled right between us so he could be included. Because apparently prayer circles are social activities, and Finn does NOT miss social activities. ❤️🐾🙏

We have loved caring for you since 2023, sweet boy. Thank you for the laughs, the love and all those Finn moments that made us smile.

Florida, you're getting a good one.

Actually… you're getting three good ones. 💜

We will miss you, Finn—and we'll miss your mom and dad just as much. Safe travels, friends. May God bless your new home, your new adventures, and this beautiful next chapter. ❤️🙏🐾

❤️ HOME IS WHERE THE HEART IS — GRACIE'S STORY ❤️

This is one of those stories that beautifully captures why we do what we do.

Meet Gracie, a precious 17-year-old Border Collie mix who recently spent 7½ weeks with some very special members of our Roxie's family while her dad set off on an adventure of a lifetime.

Gracie's dad is retired and an avid motorcycle rider. 🏍️ This summer, he headed out from Texas, zig-zagged through several states on his way north, met up with his riding crew and continued all the way to Alaska.

What an incredible journey!

But there was one very important question before he could leave:

Who would care for his 17-year-old girl for nearly two months?

That's where a unique Roxie's Pet Services offering came in...

🏡 Private Stay at The White House

Tommy & Laurie White are a very special part of our Roxie's Team. They no longer have a dog of their own, but their hearts and home still had plenty of love to give. So they joined our team and now offer something truly special: caring for one dog family at a time in their own home.

No kennel environment. No revolving door of dogs.

Just a home-away-from-home with Tommy & Laurie.

And for 7½ weeks, The White House became Gracie's house, too. ❤️

She had free rein to make herself right at home—and believe us, she did. 😂

One of our favorite Gracie habits was walking right up to Tommy's chair and giving him the look.

It could mean:

"I'd like a snack."
"I'd like a walk."
"I'd like to be tucked into bed now."

Whatever Gracie wanted, Gracie had absolutely no trouble communicating it. 😂❤️

Meanwhile, her dad received two updates every single day, along with texts and phone calls whenever he wanted to check in or simply talk about his girl.

Then, on his journey home, something happened we certainly weren't expecting.

Gracie's dad was involved in a motorcycle accident.

We praise God for His protection over him. 🙏🏻

His homecoming had to be delayed while he rested and began healing, and there was never a question about what would happen with Gracie.

She stayed right where she was—safe, loved and cared for—until Dad was ready for her.

And today...

Gracie finally went HOME. 🥹❤️

We transported her back to her dad, and the moment she realized who was waiting for her...

Oh. My. Heart.

This 17-year-old girl SMILED.

Then she started galloping with excitement.

Seventeen years old, and suddenly those old legs remembered exactly how to run to Dad. 🥹

After 7½ weeks of loving this sweet girl, there could not have been a more beautiful ending for Tommy, Laurie and all of us at Roxie's than watching Gracie reunite with the person she loves most.

And maybe that's the sweetest part of this whole story:

Gracie has a home-home...

and now she has a home-away-from-home whenever she needs it. ❤️

Thank you, Tommy & Laurie, for opening your home and your hearts to this beautiful senior girl. What you provided wasn't simply pet sitting. You gave Gracie's dad the freedom and peace of mind to take an extraordinary journey knowing his girl was being loved like family.

And sweet Gracie...

Thank you for bringing so much joy to The White House.

Your chair-side demands, your sweet old face and that beautiful smile have officially stolen our hearts. 🐾❤️

Home really is where the heart is.

And sometimes, if you're especially blessed, you get to have two. 🏡❤️🏡

🩷🐾 SOMETIMES, YOU JUST KNOW GOD HAD A HAND IN IT. 🐾🩷

We have the update so many of you have been praying for.

Kitty and Shotgun have found their new family — TOGETHER.

But there is so much more to this story.

Last week, our Roxie's Pet Sitting team member, Carol, reached out to me about two little dogs belonging to her sister-in-law, Cathi.

Cathi was in hospice, nearing the end of her life, and Kitty and Shotgun had been staying at a boarding kennel for several weeks. Carol had been entrusted with the heartbreaking task of finding them a new home.

Not just any home.

A home where they could stay together.

We created their rehoming post and asked all of you to help us find that family.

Just hours after we posted it, Cathi peacefully passed away. 💔

And then something happened that Carol and I don't believe was coincidence.

The very next morning, I received a phone call from a woman named Linda.

It was the ONLY serious interest I received.

Linda and her husband, Jim, had lost the second of their beloved dogs in January. In the months since, they had been talking about opening their hearts and home again.

And specifically...

they had been talking about adopting a bonded pair.

But there was another connection.

Linda knew Cathi through Facebook.

They shared a love and passion for Blues music.

Of all the people who could have seen that post...

Of all the people who could have called...

It was Linda.

Today, Carol and I drove to DeSoto to meet Jim and Linda and introduce them to Kitty and Shotgun.

And y'all...

The dogs knew. 🥹

They warmed up to Jim and Linda almost immediately. There was no forcing it. No trying to manufacture a connection.

They climbed into their arms.

They relaxed.

They loved.

And Carol and I looked at each other and knew.

These were their people.

Dogs know good people. 🩷

Jim and Linda arrived today hoping to meet two little dogs.

They drove away with Kitty and Shotgun.

Together.

Exactly as Cathi would have wanted.

I believe with my whole heart that Cathi had something to do with this one. Maybe she crossed into Heaven, looked down at those two babies she loved so much and said,

"Okay, Lord. Now let's get my babies home." 🩷

And somehow, the one person who called was someone connected to Cathi herself.

You can call that coincidence.

Carol and I call it God.

And maybe — just maybe — Cathi was doing a little matchmaking from Heaven. 🕊️

There is one more group of people who deserve our enormous gratitude.

Willow Run Pet Resort in DeSoto lovingly cared for Kitty and Shotgun for the past three weeks while Cathi was hospitalized and her family navigated an unimaginably difficult time.

They weren't simply a place for these dogs to stay. They gave them safety, consistency, attention and love while their entire world was changing.

To everyone at Willow Run Pet Resort: THANK YOU. ❤️

Thank you for loving Cathi's babies when she couldn't be there to love them herself. Thank you for keeping them safe until we could get them into the arms of the people who would take them home.

And to everyone who shared our original post, prayed, commented, tagged friends and helped us get the word out — thank you.

Today there are tears.

But they are very different tears than the ones we had a few days ago.

Today they are tears of gratitude.

Rest peacefully, Cathi. 🕊️

Your babies are safe.

Your babies are loved.

And most importantly...

your babies are still together. 🐾🩷🐾

Welcome home, Kitty & Shotgun.

And welcome to their story, Jim & Linda. ❤️

Another episode of Conversations Between Our Sitters & Their Besties... 😂🐾

Photo #1:
Auntie Carol: “J-Mo, I have something to tell you. This is Auntie Carol's last visit. Your parents come home TODAY!” ❤️

J-Mo: “Wait... what did you just say?” 👀

Auntie Carol: “Your mom and dad. They're coming HOME!”

Photo #2:
J-Mo: “REALLY?!?! No... but REALLY?!?!” 🤯🥳🤣

After THREE WHOLE WEEKS, somebody is just a teensy-weensy bit excited to hear that his people are coming home. 😂❤️

And that right there is one of the sweetest parts of what we do. We get to love them, spoil them, keep their routines going and make sure they feel safe and happy while their families are away...

But there is NOTHING quite like getting to tell them:

“Your people are coming home today.” 🥹🐾❤️

Judging by that second photo, J-Mo understood the assignment. 🤣🤣🤣

Welcome home, Mom & Dad! Your boy has been waiting. ❤️

Sometimes our sitters capture a sequence of photos that tells an entire story without saying a word. 🤣🐾

**Photo #1:**
Jen: *“Hobson, buddy... what are you thinking about so deeply?”* 🤔

Hobson: *“I’ve been doing a lot of reflecting lately, Jen. Thinking about life. My purpose. My hopes. My dreams. The things that truly bring meaning to my existence...”*

**Photo #2:**
Jen: *“Ahhhh. The refrigerator. Of course.”* 🤦‍♀️🤣

Hobson: *“Yes. The refrigerator holds all the answers.”* 😌

Deep thoughts with Hobson.
A very wise boy who knows exactly where happiness lives. 😂🐶❤️

🩷 URGENT — HELP US FIND KITTY & SHOTGUN THEIR NEXT HOME, TOGETHER 🩷

Sometimes animal rescue isn't about saving a pet from neglect or abandonment.

Sometimes it's about stepping in when a devoted pet owner can no longer be there to care for the animals she loves.

This is one of those times. 💔

Cathi is currently in hospice care and nearing the end of her life. Her beloved dogs, Kitty and Shotgun, have been staying at a boarding kennel in DeSoto for approximately three weeks while Cathi's family has been by her side.

Now her family is trying to fulfill an incredibly important responsibility: finding these two sweet pups a loving home where they can remain together.

🐾 KITTY
Female Terrier Mix • approximately 5½ years old • 12 lbs. • spayed

🐾 SHOTGUN
Male Cairn Terrier Mix • approximately 6½ years old • 18 lbs. • neutered

Kitty and Shotgun have been together for years and are very bonded. We do not want them separated.

Both are:

❤️ Fully vaccinated — records available
❤️ House trained
❤️ Leash trained, although they aren't accustomed to daily walks
❤️ Friendly and playful
❤️ Lovers of car rides
❤️ Professional squirrel patrol officers 😉
❤️ Currently doing very well at the boarding kennel

They are not crate trained.

Their previous exposure to children, cats and other dogs in a home environment has been limited, so we want to be thoughtful about their placement. Interestingly, the kennel reports that they are doing wonderfully and aren't bothered by the other dogs there, which is very encouraging.

Most importantly, these two have already experienced an enormous change. Their person suddenly disappeared from their daily lives, and of course they cannot understand why.

Soon, Cathi will be leaving them permanently.

What I would love more than anything is for Cathi's family to be able to tell her:

"Kitty and Shotgun are going to be okay. We found them a home. And they're staying together." 🩷

That would be an extraordinary gift to give this woman in her final days.

We are looking for a responsible, committed adopter who understands that bringing home two bonded dogs is a lifetime commitment. We are not looking for the fastest placement—we are looking for the right one.

If you believe that might be you, please send me a private message.

And if you cannot adopt them, PLEASE SHARE. You never know which share will reach the person who is supposed to see them.

Cathi loves photography, birds, plants, gardening—and these two little dogs. Her family describes her as having a heart of gold.

Let's surround that heart with a whole lot of love right now.

Let's get Kitty & Shotgun HOME. Together. 🐾🩷🐾

🙏 And while you're sharing, please say a prayer for Cathi, her family, and these two precious pups as they walk through these very difficult days.

Ever wonder, "What does a Roxie's Meet & Greet looks like?"

No clipboards. No rushing. No awkward introductions.

Just sitting on the floor, making silly faces, handing out gentle pets, sharing a few kisses (okay... maybe a lot of kisses 😘), and letting your pet decide when we're friends.

Last night we had the pleasure of meeting the beautiful Willow, and she had us laughing from the moment we walked through the door. From dramatic smooch requests to goofy expressions and sweet snuggles, she made sure we knew exactly how she felt about her new pet sitters, Debbie & Grace.

A Meet & Greet is so much more than gathering feeding instructions and alarm codes (that is all pre-gathered in our secure app). It's about building trust—both with our clients and with the pets who will soon be welcoming us into their home while their family is away.

By the time we leave, our goal is simple:
🐾 Your pet feels comfortable.
🐾 You feel confident.
🐾 And everyone is excited for the first visit.

Welcome to the Roxie's family, Willow! We already adore you, and we have a feeling the feeling is mutual. 💜
