EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF APRIL 12, 2023
JOY HOLLIFIELD
This week’s Employee Spotlight is on Joy Hollifield. Joy has worked for FillTech USA for 15 years. She started on the production floor and over the years has assumed many positions. For the last four years she has been a General Operations Documentation Specialist. In this role, Joy closes the bulk jobs after they have left the batching department and closes the production jobs in the system which keeps up with our inventory. Joy’s biggest accomplishment is that she has worked in all sorts of departments within FillTech USA, from a machine operator to a Quality Assistant to her present position. Her favorite parts of her job are the laid-back atmosphere and the ability to learn new things. She also likes the fact that she gets to see her friends every day. The coworkers that inspire Joy the most is Heather Strickland and Eunice Lambert. Joy says that no matter what life throws at her, Heather just keeps going and Eunice knows how to get things done. Joy defines success as, “Setting a goal and reaching it” and her life’s motto is, “Happiness is a choice, not a condition. I choose to be happy!” If you ever want to be greeted with a big smile or if you are down and need to be uplifted, go look for Joy. Her name is perfect for her!
When Joy is not at work, she likes to hang out with her kids, do puzzles and read. Joy loves to read. She could read all day, every day. So, it’s not a surprise that the person that Joy would want to meet is the famous crime writer, James Patterson. Joy has read over 100 of his books. His Alex Cross series are her favorite because they keep her interest from start to finish. Joy is motivated by music and she says that she loves all music, depending on her mood. She loves to crank up her music and let her worries go because life is too short. Joy describes herself as being sarcastic, loyal and content and if she could only eat one meal for the rest of her life it would be Chicken Fajitas; especially from Casa Grande.
Joy’s parents are who inspire her in life. They are always willing to help others. Joy said her mom would do anything for her kids and her dad is always helping people in his church. Joy’s greatest fear is that her children will settle for less than they’re worth. A couple of interesting facts about Joy, is that she has a daughter that is 23, a son that is 6 and a step-daughter that is 10. Joy is also a grandma to a 2-year-old grandson.
Thank you, Joy, for your years of service and dedication to FillTech USA. And thank you for being such a “Joy” to work with!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF APRIL 5TH, 2023
MARTY SMITH
Our Employee Spotlight this week is on one of our batchers, Marty Smith. Marty has worked for FillTech USA for the last year and he says that he came to FillTech looking for a job but instead he found a home. Marty said his department is like a big family and they work as a team. What he likes most about his job is the precision and attention to details it requires. Marty considers FillTech his own little majestic piece of the Universe.
One of his favorite parts of his job is when his department has a tight schedule to fill and he sees his team pull together and get the job done. The people who inspire Marty the most within the company are his management team, Luke Hobbs and Eddie Papp. Marty says they expect more of themselves then others expect from them and that is what makes them “top-shelf” management. In Marty’s words, “We have the finest management that any company could possibly ask for.”
When Marty isn’t working, he likes maintaining his property, riding his Harley and taking his Chihuahua, Jazzy, in the truck for a trip to KFC for chicken strips. Three words that Marty would use to describe himself are, “Honest, Compassionate and Generous” and Marty says the one thing in life that has always motivated him, is his passion for not starving to death! As long as Marty’s favorite food, tacos, are around, there will be no chance of that happening. His greatest fear is blue lights in his rearview mirror and people creeping up behind him while he’s busy working. Something tells me there is a funny story behind this! Marty’s motto in life is, “It ain’t the way it looks, boss. I can explain!”
Marty’s definition of success is accomplishing the goal of helping myself and others lead a better, happier and healthier life. Spending time with his wife, Terry, is Marty’s greatest joy. Marty and Terry have been married for eight years. Years ago, they were high school sweethearts but after high school, they both went their separate ways. Marty and Terry married other people, and after they both found themselves single again, they reconnected on Facebook and rekindled their relationship. He says he wishes he had gotten it right the first time.
Some interesting facts about him; Marty grew up in a Military family and he attended nine different schools in his childhood. At one time, Marty worked as a detention officer in a jail. Marty is another example of the great employees we have here at FillTech USA. Thank you, Marty, for your hard work and dedication!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF MARCH 29TH
JULIE JOHNSON
Our Employee Spotlight this week is on Julie Johnson. Julie has been with FillTech USA for almost 2 years as a Pack-Out Technician. At times, Julie runs a machine and other times she is packing finished products in boxes. Julie enjoys the fact that there are many different things to do on the Pack Out line.
Being around good people is Julie’s favorite part of her job and she says her biggest work accomplishment is being able to help whoever needs it. Her personal mantra is, “Try to do it right the first time” and Julie defines success as “Never saying you can’t, unless you try first”. The people who inspire Julie at work are Terry, Sheila and Glenda. Julie says they work well together and they are good at solving problems. Julie is motivated by the fact that she is still able to work, even after retiring. Her greatest fear is being in a bad accident that would keep her from being able to work and do the things she loves to do.
When Julie is not working, she enjoys spending time with her friends and her two Jack Russell mixes, Benji and Skipper. Julie describes herself as being a little crazy, funny and someone who loves to have fun. The one meal Julie could eat every day, for the rest of her life, would be tacos from Salsarita’s.
Julie would love to meet Clint Eastwood. He has always been her favorite actor and he reminds Julie of her dad, in both looks and actions. Speaking of Julie’s dad, he is 95 years young and she says he inspires her every day. Her dad is always there for her and has been all her life.
Julie comes from a family of musicians so it’s no surprise that she loves to sing, play the spoons and the tambourine. Julie performs with her boyfriend, Hurley, who plays the guitar and harmonica. They like to play Gospel and Country music and perform for festivals and local events.
Thank you, Julie, for your hard work and dedication. We are glad you’re a part of the FillTech USA team!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF MARCH 22ND, 2023
ANGELA LAWSON
This week’s Employee Spotlight is on Angela Lawson. Angela is our Inventory Control Specialist Lead and, in this role, she oversees vendor verifications, cycle counts, expired materials and quantity adjustments. Angela and her team also keep our warehouses organized. In her four plus years being employed by FillTech, Angela says her biggest work accomplishment is the knowledge that she has gained while working here. The part of her job that Angela likes the most would be the great people she gets to work with. She says there is never a dull moment here.
“Keep Trying” is Angela’s personal mantra and she says she keeps trying to be a better person and she tries to do better for herself as well. This self-proclaimed “Big Kid” is very handy with tools and used to do all the maintenance on her car. Angela is a cancer survivor who is motivated by her seven kids and 4 grandkids, with one on the way. Three words that Angela would use to describe herself would be, “tender-hearted, sarcastic and stubborn” and her definition of success is having stability in life. There are two people that really inspire Angela. The first is a lady at FillTech, who Angela wishes to keep anonymous. She says this person has been through some of the same experiences that she has gone through, but a lot worse, and she has never lost her faith in God. The other person who inspires Angela is her 80-year-old daddy. He is the most giving person Angela has ever known and he has overcome so much in his life but, through it all, he always puts other people’s needs before his own.
Angela loves to watch ghost shows. Her favorites are Ghost Hunters and Amy and Adam. Angela has had more than her share of paranormal activities in her life. There are two stories that really stand out to her. Angela and her family used to live on property, that had once belonged to her husband’s grandfather. One day, while Angela was home alone, she was watching television and, at that time, the tv was on a glass front cabinet. She glanced away from the tv and saw, in the reflection of the glass, a large man with a hat on, leaning on the door frame going into the kitchen. She could see that he was just standing there watching her. When she turned around to look, there was no one there. Later, she told her husband what she had seen, and after describing what the man looked like, Angela’s husband exclaimed that was exactly what his grandfather looked like! Another time, Angela’s daughter was in her room practicing a song for her chorus class in school. She was recording herself singing the song and when she played it back, there was a man’s voice singing along with her. Angela’s daughter came running to her, and shakingly played it for Angela to hear. Come to find out, that was one of the grandfather’s favorite songs. It’s no wonder Angela is drawn to ghost shows!
The person that Angela would love to meet would be her paternal grandfather. He passed away when Angela’s dad was twelve. Her grandfather had an article written about his heroic achievements, during World War II, in the Salisbury Post. He survived many close call encounters, one of them being shot in the top of his head. The article talks about how he and 13 other American soldiers were captured by the Germans and held captive for ten days. During the ten days of captivity, the American soldiers were able to communicate with the German soldiers. They not only talked their captives into freeing them, but they convinced them that things were so much better on the American side, that the German soldiers went with them! Angela’s grandfather, after several years of struggling, died from complications due to his WWII injuries.
Angela’s greatest fear is that people will get to know the real Angela. Well, what we know of you Angela, we absolutely love and we are proud that you are a part of our FillTech Family.

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF MARCH 15TH
PATRICIA CANNON
Our Employee Spotlight this week is on Patricia Cannon. Patricia has worked for FillTech USA for a little over a year. Her position with us is Line Lead on our Production floor. Patricia helps to oversee the complete preparation of the line for filling and packing of customers products, while maintaining the quality of the products and ensuring that her team is aware of all requirements. Patricia likes to see her line come together as a team to produce quality products. Patricia says she has not yet reached her full potential at work because she is always learning and growing. Her favorite part of her job is working as a team and she describes herself as being kind, disciplined, and concerned for others. Patricia defines success as being able to communicate, appreciate and share blessings with others. Our Production Manager, Glenda, inspires Patricia with the way she is able to remain calm and stay level-headed, even when others around her are not. Glenda can stay positive which effects those around her to be more positive and take things as they come. Another employee, that really stands out to Patricia, is Xay Yang, another Line Lead with FillTech. Patricia is motivated by Xay’s ability to always come to work, ready to give 100% and she says she is a great team mate; always willing to share the knowledge she has learned with those around her.
When Patricia is not working, she loves to plan activities with her grandkids who range in age from 2 to 20. Patricia has 5 granddaughters and 2 grandsons and she said they inspire her everyday with their love for each other and for life. She says that they are creative and driven to be the best they can be. Patricia’s greatest fear is failing her children and grandchildren.
Patricia loves to listen to music and the one person she would love to meet would be the Grammy winning Gospel Singer, Ce Ce Winans. Patricia says she has a genuine love for people and she is always so positive and uplifting to others.
The one food that Patricia could eat everyday for the rest of her life would be Mexican Rice and her personal mantra is “Do everything to the best of my ability to the glory and honor of God”. Patricia’s daily prayer is to do “All I can, for whomever I can, whenever I can.” Thank you, Patricia for all your hard work and dedication to FillTech USA. We are honored to have you on our team!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF MARCH 8TH, 2023
MYRALYN (RED) GOODMAN
FillTech USA’s Employee Spotlight this week is on Myralyn Goodman, but around here everyone refers to her as Red. Red has worked for FillTech for the past 8 years and 4 months on our Pack out Line. Her job requires that she prepare the boxes for the products we manufacture. Red loves her job and her favorite part is the awesome people she works with. Her greatest work accomplishment is being able to fold a lot of boxes everyday and she defines her success as being healthy and still able to work at her age. Abby Upright and Terry Hunsucker are the two coworkers that really inspire Red. She says it’s because they have both overcome obstacles in their lives and they are hardworking ladies. Red said that coming to a job that gives her meaning is what motivates her.
When Red is not working, she loves to go to her “happy place”, the beach! She’s had a camper, at one of the local campgrounds, on the beach for years and she enjoys taking family down there to enjoy it with her. Red has six grandchildren. Three girls and three boys, ranging in age from 14 to 26 and she says they inspire her in life. Red’s greatest fear is not being able to be there for her family.
Red lives by the motto, “Always tell the truth” and the truth is, Red could eat a Bacon Cheeseburger pizza from Slice of Heaven everyday for the rest of her life! It is her favorite food.
A very interesting fact about Red is her collection of unicorns, dolls, water globes and Elvis memorabilia. When asked what her best piece of Elvis memorabilia is, without hesitation, Red said it is her 68’ Comeback Special Elvis doll! She loves Elvis and he would be the one person that she would want to meet. He was a big part of her life growing up and she even got to see him in concert!
Red describes herself as being trustworthy, sassy and comical and we would all agree! Thank you, Red, for all your hard work and dedication to FillTech USA!

EMPLOYEE SPOTLIGHT WEEK OF MARCH 1, 2023
RITA LEFLER
Our Employee Spotlight this week is on Rita Lefler. Rita has been working for FillTech since 2008 as our company’s Plant Manager. She works closely with our Production Manager, Glenda, in creating our schedules for production. Rita refers to herself as a puzzle maker. She takes all the “pieces” that make up the flow of our batching and production departments, and moves them around and makes them fit together. Rita came to FillTech USA with a vast knowledge of the business and her favorite part of her job is working with and around all her fellow FillTech USA employees. Rita says that every employee here is an inspiration to her and that they all bring and give in their own ways. Rita describes herself as being eclectic, dedicated and full of useless knowledge, but her fellow employees would describe her as being funny, talented, hardworking and a walking Encyclopedia Brittanica!
Rita defines success as, “Always growing and learning” and “waking up and knowing I’ve been given another day to contribute” is what motivates her. Rita’s greatest fear is letting someone down and anyone that knows Rita, knows there is a good chance that won’t happen. The same dedication that Rita applies at work, is the same dedication she extends to her family and friends. She has a calming presence about her that you are instantly drawn to.
If Rita could eat one meal everyday for the rest of her life, she wouldn’t! She said she would eat anything that she could outrun and she’s faster than most food! When Rita is not working or chasing down her next meal, she loves to quilt, cook and love on her family. She loves learning new techniques and challenging herself. If you ever saw some of her beautiful quilts, you would know what I mean.
Rita’s motto in life is “I can do all things through Christ” and her inspiration in life is her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, because he shows her how to live her life. The one person that Rita would love to meet is Mary Magdelene from the Bible. She would love to hear about her interesting life and the first-hand stories Mary would have about Jesus.
When asked what is something about her that people would find interesting, Rita said probably nothing. Those words could not be further from the truth. For one thing, she has a mind like a trap door. She can remember details from “way back when”. She has a collection of her childhood toys and she can tell you when she got them, how old she was and the circumstance around them. Rita also loves chickens! She has four of them. Sisters, Thelma and Louise. They are Green Star chickens and 2 Black Marans, Black Betty and Fried Chicken. Of course when the neighbors kids come over, Fried Chicken becomes just Chicken!
Rita loves seeing FillTech’s success and when asked what her biggest work accomplishment is, she would tell you that it is being allowed to return to work tomorrow after tomorrow after tomorrow! Thank you, Rita, for your dedication and quiet strength here at FillTech. You’re a true class act!
