2026. Here we are!
Sometimes I miss jumping up in the trailer, hanging a scale, and weighing the cans, and all the other forms of aluminum and copper you all delivered! I enjoyed meeting so many of you, from '94 through the end of '23!
But as we know, things change. In the spring of '24, the people who own the property, and to whom I paid rent, informed me I could not stay, because they had other plans for the space.
I'm grateful that I've been employed by PIKE Engineering for the past 18 months! I collect information on and around AEP poles, and have enjoyed reconnecting with quite a few of you as I've worked quite a bit in the Rocky Mount and Franklin county area!
I'm wishing you all well in '26! Still glad to answer questions or share ideas about aluminum and copper, or just to hear from you. Sincerely, Dave

Wow! Haven't checked in since last December. Hope you all are well.
Thankful to say I'm still enjoying working for PIKE Engineering! I've actually done quite a bit in Franklin county during the past year.Today, I'm on Doe Run Rd, near Triple Creek. If you're in the area, I hope you can stop for a moment.
I sold some aluminum in the Roanoke area recently for 60 ¢/lb, and some copper for well over $3/lb. So it appears to me the market is fairly strong, and if you have anything you want to sell, now is a pretty good time.
As always, I'm still here to answer any questions you would like to ask. Please feel free to message me.

Season's greetings! A lot of things happening!
The phone number I had for this business for 20ish years has been terminated. Of course, you can reach me on here, and I look forward to seeing you in person, if I can be so fortunate.
I am very pleased to tell you I have been employed by PIKE Engineering since June! We are contracted by AEP, and what I do is go out and collect data on their poles. I have found this to be very adventurous, challenging and unexpected!
Tomorrow, I will be fielding alongside Rt 40, east of Rocky Mount, at Chestnut Hill and Webster Rd. If you see a skinny guy wearing a hard hat and a reflective vest, carrying a long, yellow stick, that's probably me! I hope you'll wave, or stop and say hi for a moment!
I was disappointed that I couldn't return to the spot where I've been doing business with you all since '94, but I'm very thankful for what I'm doing now.
Thank you all for many years of selling aluminum and copper to me, and for many memories I hope to recall for many more years!

Hello everyone!
I apologize for not posting since February. A lot has happened since then!
The people who own the spot where I parked a trailer behind Advance Auto for over 20 years informed me in April that they had signed a contract with someone else to lease the spot. I've driven by there several times since June, and haven't seen anything there, so I'm not sure what's going on. I paid $3600 to park the trailer there for 9 months last year, and the owners did not inform me about any changes until three weeks after I contacted them.
It appears to me that I am done buying aluminum and copper. I started in December, 1990, came to the Rocky Mount location in '94, and was self-employed there since '02! I thank you all for selling to me! I remember so many of you, and so many of you sold to me for years, and even decades. I met some of you when you were 5 or 10 years old, and 20 years later, you brought your children! Also, my daughter, who is almost 21, and her mother, who I'm sure some of you remember, are both doing well.
Something very good has happened for me in the past several months! I will post about that soon.

I spoke with the people who own the property, and the spot where the trailer has been parked is under contract for another business to move in. I thought it was impossible for any other business to fit there, but apparently not.
I will look for another spot to park the trailer. However, because of zoning and a few other details, I can say it is very unlikely this will happen. .

Today is the 30th anniversary of when I started buying at this location! I was employed by Reynolds Aluminum for 10 years, and six of it was here.
I'M CLOSED FOR THE WINTER, and it seems likely that I'm closed permanently. In the next couple months, I will post as things develop. .
After being closed for the previous few years, I was uncertain how things would go this year. I only made enough money to pay the rent, but money is only part of what motivated me to come back.
I enjoyed seeing you all again!Thank you all for selling to me!
