Free Webinar Training – First Line Supervisor Training & Development
Greetings,
I wanted to make you aware of a free training webinar series coming soon. The training is geared toward new leaders, those who want to be leaders, or leaders who want to enhance their skills. These free webinars are offered as a token of appreciation for my law enforcement family (the training can be for any leader - sworn or unsworn and any discipline).
The courses are delivered in an interactive two-hour webinar format. All an attendee has to do is click on the links below and they can self-register. Confirmations will be sent automatically.

The course will examine the relationship of first line supervisor’s leadership styles, communication skills, and decision making on the effective performance of followers. The course will examine the relationships between the leader and follower; challenging; inspiring; enabling; modeling, and encouraging. We will compare these interactions and their influence on the organizations that employ both the leaders and the followers. This course is excellent for new first line supervisors, those aspiring to become supervisors, and for seasoned leaders.

In this session we will look at what leadership is and isn’t. We will examine various prominent leadership styles and consider the differences between leadership and management. We will attempt to identify what type of leader we are and what type of leadership skills we have and wish to gain or enhance. Additionally, we will discuss situational leadership, servant leadership, transformational leadership, and various leadership paradigms.

The purpose of this course is to help students recognize and practice critical thinking skills. Critical thinking skills will enhance and hone decision making during tactical and administrative activities. Critical thinking is the intellectually disciplined process of actively and skillfully conceptualizing, applying, analyzing, synthesizing, and/or evaluating information gathered from, or generated by, observation, experience, reflection, reasoning, or communication, as a guide to belief and action. Further, we will examine the design, implementation, and evaluation of problem-solving techniques. Students will explore how viable problem-solving alternatives are generated and put into practice. Students will examine the link between problem solving and decision making.

The purpose of this course is to explore what might make people difficult and or negative in the workplace and beyond and to offer ways to manage such employees. We will examine ways to create and maintain a positive and professional workplace. Hiring, discipline, training, policy administration, leadership, and the human element will be discussed. Options for dealing with a disruptive employee and behavior will be discussed.
Space is limited to the first 100 students to sign up for each section.
Upon completion of the training, I can send your agency a roster of attendees for your tracking and continuing education credit if you wish. My curriculum vitae is available upon request.
