Did you know that wood products continue to store carbon for their useful life and beyond? The solid and engineered wood products we made in 2023 alone will keep an average of 10 million metric tons of CO2 equivalent out of the atmosphere over the next 100 years. That’s the equivalent to the carbon emission from 1.3 million homes’ energy use each year. Through the cycle of harvesting and replanting, wood products from sustainably managed forests are part of an ever-increasing equation that pulls carbon out of the atmosphere over time.
