Introducing Jenna Valle-Riestra, ‘18, one of our 2026 Alumni Faces of SSU. Jenna currently works as a Corporate Communications Manager at Coinbase, but her journey began right here at Sonoma State.

During her time at SSU, Jena was deeply involved across campus. She was a Peer Mentor, student-athlete, and an active leader in Greek life, through Phi Sigma Sigma and Panhellenic Executive Board. She was also a Koret Research Scholar, Model United Nations delegate, Teaching Assistant, General Manager for Primitivo PR, and SSU Fellow for the Panetta Institute for Public Policy, among many other roles.

“SSU was the first place that made me realize I could actually do something meaningful with my voice. My professors and peers believed in me until I learned how to believe in myself.”

✨ Advice for students: “It is okay to be selfish in the pursuit of what sets your soul on fire. Don’t settle for anything less than an extraordinary life. Stay true to yourself and trust that you can create the life you want.”

Introducing Wyatt Koon, ‘16, ‘23, our first of 12 Alumni honored as a 2026 Face of SSU.

Wyatt now serves as Vice President of Technology at Golden Gate Sotheby’s International Realty, but his journey began at Sonoma State.

At SSU, he was an active member of Alpha Epsilon Pi, serving as Vice President and Philanthropy Chair, where he launched impactful fundraising events and helped modernize the chapter through digital tools. He also led one of the largest Relay for Life events in SSU history and worked in Dining Services.

“I owe a lot of my professional foundation to my time at Sonoma State. It taught me how to adapt quickly, communicate effectively, and take initiative.”

✨ Advice for students: “Say yes to opportunities, even if you're not entirely sure you're ready. Stay curious and treat every experience as a chance to grow.”
