FAR 2026
Throughout the weekend on June 20, we've launched our rockets, Pegasus and Leviathan, at the FAR Launch Site in California!
Pegasus successfully launched off the rail. However, due to problems with our tracking system, we lost the rocket and are unable to find it, which means we are uncertain on how fast or high it went. Even with all that, it’s the first time in almost a decade that the team launched a rocket with a full SRAD (Student Researched and Designed) motor
As for Leviathan, the launch was unsuccessful, which we found was due to issues in filling the nitrous tank. The team put in an amazing effort to resolve the issues and attempt to launch again for a total of 3 launch attempts. Unfortunately, no success
Although failure is disappointing, it is how we can learn from our mistakes and make improvements on future rockets. It’s part of the engineering process, and the goal of this design team isn’t just designing, building, and launching rockets, but also developing future engineers
