Before you sprint to the store like this little legend (📸😂), take a few simple steps to protect your home and stay safe, without spending a fortune.

Protect Your Pipes
-Drip faucets on exterior walls
-Open cabinet doors under sinks
-Unhook hoses and cover outdoor spigots
-Know how to shut off water in case of a burst

Be Ready for a Power Outage
-Charge phones and backup batteries
-Gather flashlights, blankets, and shelf-stable snacks
-Identify a warm room to “camp out” if needed
-Never run a generator inside

Bonus Tips
-Set your thermostat to consistent heat, even when you’re not home
-Use rolled towels at drafty door bottoms
-Freeze jugs of water to keep fridge cold longer if the power goes out
-Keep a cooler nearby just in case
