Down at the recycle center, late one weekend day,
All the bins were lined up, sorted just right.
Then who crept in sneering with a mischievous pinch?
Why, that green, grumpy thief — the Recycle Grinch.

He didn’t want toys, or roast beast, or cheer,
He wanted all the old mowers and metal scrap.
He grabbed the mower that he thought looked just right.
Muttering, “Reduce? Reuse? I’ll reuse this—ha-ha!”

We ask if you could not the be recycle Grinch, and know that it is not just the recycle center that you stole from, it's also all the "Who's" in our committee.

To all our faithful customers, due to a technical error we now have time slots available for the upcoming event this Saturday. We would like to ask you to go to the sign-up page on the county web page or you can call the recycle center. We look forward to seeing each one of you this upcoming weekend.

Here at the recycle center and the Floyd County remote sites, we hope everyone has a safe and wonderful holiday.

The remote sites will be closed on Thursday the 19th for the holiday and will resume normal working hours on Friday the 20th.

The contestant took home a push mower, we congratulate you on your choice of wanting a new cardio program. But we would like to say that there is a no scavenging sign posted on the property.

We want to wish Ms. Emma Wells the best of luck in her new adventures with the new chapter of her life. She has been a huge part of the work that we do here at Rome-Floyd Recycle Center. She will be missed greatly.

A huge THANK YOU to the 387 amazing residents who braved the bad weather to participate in our Household Hazardous Waste & Electronics Recycling Event this past weekend! 🙌♻️

We had 480 sign-ups and a 19-person waitlist, and your commitment to keeping Rome and Floyd County clean and green is what makes events like this such a success. Your efforts help us protect our environment and build a more sustainable community.

Stay tuned for future events in August and November—we can't wait to see you all again (hopefully with sunnier skies! ☀️).
