Concrete continues gaining strength through hydration. Maintaining proper moisture by curing as soon as possible is one of the simplest ways to maximize durability and long-term performance.

Lignite is becoming more commonplace, as materials mined from the area change. It may look unsightly for a short time but does not affect the overall strength and durability of your concrete.

Call us if you have any questions or concerns.

Watering a slab intermittently does not constitute curing! Once the slab is dry, curing stops. Consider a curing compound instead.

Curing is the process of maintaining moisture and temperature conditions that allow hydration to continue. Hydration is the chemical reaction that develops concrete strength, durability, and performance. Without proper curing, hydration stops before concrete reaches its full potential.

Improper curing can contribute to:

• Surface cracking
• Dusting
• Scaling
• Reduced durability
• Lower strength development

Many concrete failures begin with curing decisions made during the first few hours after placement.

Concrete curing is one of the most important factors affecting long-term performance. A slab placed on Monday can begin showing issues within weeks if moisture and temperature aren't managed properly.
The decisions made immediately after placement often determine whether concrete reaches its intended service life.
