City of Mission and South Mission area to Sicangu Village are seeing low water pressures due to a low tank level. We have had full flow into our storage tank for nearly three hours now. Water mains are filling as our storage tank fills. Pressures will gradually increase as the tank level gets higher. SV residents will also see declining pressure as your local water tank level is low. We will be able to pump water south through our pump station once inlet pressure to the booster rises. This will take time so please be patient. We are in recovery mode after a long period without any water flow from our parent system in Ft. Pierre. The entire system was severely stressed but will recover slowly. Thank you for your consideration.

Our Mni Wiconi system is now refilling from the Murdo tanks. It’s going to take a several hours to fill our storage tanks toward the Horse Creek, Cedar Butte, and Mission areas. Please give the system time to refill and pressurize. We should see regular pressures in most areas before the end of the day. This is great news! Thank you OST Coreline crew for your hard work and dedication during this water outage.
Wopila tonka! Drinking water deliveries were made to these areas this morning in the meantime while the system recovers.

Thursday 630 am Mni Wiconi water update: the OST Coreline was finally tied in successfully in Ft. Pierre. However, we are still not able to draw water from their core system. OST worked through the line to flush and fill their core lines between Ft. Pierre and Murdo. We will be able to start filling our storage tanks once OST gets their system pressurized and their tanks full. Expect this to happen within the next few hours. We will post again once we start flowing water from Murdo toward White River then south.

We want to encourage those community members on the Mni Wiconi system to conserve water usage as much as possible until our core line is back up and running. Latest report indicates delays in the completion of the project. Our system may not receive water supplies for several more hours. Please use your water supply sparingly this evening into the morning hours. We are relying on our existing water storage to keep the system pressurized. Please help us and others by practicing water conservation. We will give updates as the project progresses. Thank you.

Our department would like to encourage our Swift Bear, Horse Creek, Black Pipe, and Corn Creek residents to take proactive measures and fill some drinking water containers. The Mni Wiconi core line system started a double tie in connection yesterday in Ft. Pierre. The project required the system to shut down. We are into this effort now 30 + hours which has hindered the ability to draw water onto the Rosebud. We want residents to have a supply of drinking water available so please fill your jugs for later use. Our local system water system storage is low so we want everyone to be prepared for an outage if the connection is not completed in a timely manner. Crews are completing the connection as we speak but we will have a delayed start up due to the amount of water needed to refill pipes between Ft. Pierre and Murdo. We will give another update once the connection is complete and the lines begin to refill. Thank you for your time and patience.

Update: the 16 in main line break has been repaired. Water has been turned back on now for about an hour. Pressure will slowly return to normal as the lines fill. Residents should see regular service over night before morning. We recommend opening at least one faucet in your homes to release air until regular flows return. Shut them off once water flows regularly. We would like to thank all residents affected by the outage for their patience and consideration.
