Let’s Talk About an Often Overlooked Risk: Radon
While many people associate lung cancer with smoking, few realize that radon gas is the the leading cause among non-smokers.
Radon is a naturally occurring, invisible, and odorless gas that seeps into homes from the soil. It can affect any type of home, old or new, drafty or well-sealed. Because you can’t see or smell it, testing is the only way to know if your home’s levels are safe.
Even moderate radon exposure over time can increase the risk of lung cancer — but the good news is that testing is simple, and effective solutions exist if high levels are found.
💬 During Lung Cancer Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to take a moment to learn about radon and share their experience:
Have you tested your home for radon?
Were you aware of the connection between radon and lung cancer?
Raising awareness saves lives. Together, we can help protect our community’s health.
