HEY DAY 4! 🙃✨

Before you add another HomeGoods run to the schedule… try this first. You don’t always need MORE decor to make your home feel refreshed.

Move things between rooms. Swap your pillow covers. Gather everyday items onto a tray. Bring in a few branches or some greenery. Sometimes the best decorating trick is simply using what you already have differently.

13. SHOP YOUR OWN HOUSE 🏠
Before buying something new, look around your home!Move a lamp, artwork, vase or chair into a different room.
Sometimes all a space needs is to use what you already have in a new way.

2. CHANGE YOUR PILLOW COVERS 🛋️
You don’t need to buy brand-new throw pillows every time you want a change. Keep your pillow inserts and just swap the covers. Easy, cheaper + way less stuff to store!

3. PUT IT ON A TRAY ✨
Have a bunch of little things sitting on your counter or coffee table? Put them together on a tray. Same stuff but suddenly it looks organized and intentional.

4. BRING THE OUTSIDE IN 🌿
I like to rotate different greenery I have around the house. You don’t have to buy expensive greenery. Cut a few branches or stems from your yard and put them in a vase. It adds height, texture + life to a room for free.

Save this for later! ✨

When you’re excited to grow a business, it’s really easy to look at the calendar and think “We can fit that in!” 😅

But we’ve learned that booking projects too close together doesn’t serve anyone well.. our clients, our family, or our business.

A few things we’ve learned along the way:

🔨 Give every project breathing room.
Even a “simple” remodel can uncover something unexpected once demo starts. Older plumbing, water damage, electrical issues, materials that don’t cooperate… remodeling doesn’t always follow the perfect plan.

📋 Preplanning saves SO much time.
Materials ordered. Design decisions finalized. Subcontractors scheduled. Measurements double-checked. Deliveries coordinated. The more we can solve before Day 1.. the smoother the actual project runs.

📆 A realistic timeline is better than a rushed timeline.
We would rather tell a client their project will take 7 days and finish in 6 than promise 4 and scramble when something unexpected happens.

🏠 One project affects the next.
If jobs are scheduled back-to-back with no buffer, one unexpected issue can throw off an entire month. Building intentional space into our schedule helps us give each client the attention their home deserves.

Growth for us isn’t about squeezing in as many projects as possible. It’s about getting better at planning, communicating, protecting the quality of our work, and creating a process our clients can trust.

We’re still learning with every project and these lessons are helping us build Mint Craft & Co. better. 🤍🔨

Hello day 3 of 5! ☀️ What makes one room feel “fine” and another feel professionally designed? Usually, it’s the details. 👏

Lighting, texture, contrast and how you group your decor can make a HUGE difference.. without changing the furniture or remodeling the room.

➡️ Try these 4 tips before deciding your space needs a complete makeover.

9. LAYER YOUR LIGHTING 💡
Don’t rely on one big overhead light. Add lamps, sconces or under cabinet lighting throughout the room. Different light sources make a space feel warmer, cozier + more finished.

10. DECORATE IN GROUPS OF 3 🏺
When styling a shelf or table, try grouping 3 different items together. Mix up the height, size + shape of each piece. Think: a vase + candle + small decorative piece.
It makes decorating feel intentional without overthinking it!

11. ADD SOME CONTRAST 🖤
If everything in your room is the same color or tone, it can start to feel flat. Add something that stands out — black accents, warm wood, a darker pillow or a bold piece of art. A little contrast gives the room more depth and personality.

12. MIX YOUR TEXTURES 🧺
Especially if you love neutral colors! Mix soft, smooth, rough + natural materials to keep the room interesting.
Think: linen pillows + chunky blanket + wood table + woven basket. You can keep the same color palette without everything looking the same.

Day 2/5 Design Tips ✨

Ever feel like you like everything in a room individually…but somehow it doesn’t all go together?

Cohesive doesn’t mean matching everything. Some of the best spaces mix colors, wood tones and metals.. they just do it intentionally.

These 4 simple rules can help your home feel collected, balanced and pulled together without replacing everything you already own.

1. TRY THE 60–30–10 RULE 🎨
Think of your room’s colors in three layers:

60% > Dominant color: walls, large furniture, rugs
30% > Secondary color: curtains, chairs, bedding, accent furniture
10% > Accent color: pillows, artwork, decor, accessories

It doesn’t have to be exact.. it’s just an easy way to keep the room feeling balanced!

2. REPEAT A COLOR 3 TIMES 🔁
Love sage green? Don’t use it just once. Try it in a pillow, artwork + decor. Repeating a color around the room makes everything feel like it belongs together.

3. YOUR WOODS DON’T HAVE TO MATCH 🪵
Different wood tones are a GOOD thing! Choose one main wood tone, then mix in 1–2 others. Think coordinated, not matching. Your home should feel collected.. not like a furniture set.

4. YES, YOU CAN MIX METALS ✨
Black faucet + brass lights? Totally okay. Stick with 2–3 metal finishes and repeat them somewhere else in the room. The secret isn’t matching.. it’s repeating.

➡️ THE EASIEST WAY TO REMEMBER IT?
Your home doesn’t need to match.
It just needs to feel connected.

✨ Save for when are decorating later!

What does a Monday look like?? 👀

Kyle’s Mondays look like:
🔨 Meeting with clients
🔨 Installing tile + bringing designs to life
🔨 Finalizing details in the field
🔨 Following up + coordinating with other trades
🔨 Problem solving as projects come together
🔨 Keeping our clients updated face-to-face

My Mondays look like:
💻 Reconciling QuickBooks
💻 Sending change orders + estimates
💻 Managing client portals
💻 Returning emails
💻 Planning our social media content for the week
💻 Keeping the details, schedules + behind-the-scenes pieces moving

A lot of what I do happens where no one sees it and that’s kind of the point. My job behind the scenes is to make sure he can walk onto a jobsite prepared, focus on the craftsmanship, take care of our clients, and do what he does best.

While he’s bringing the designs to life, I’m making sure the business behind them keeps moving forward.

Different strengths & Different roles.
Same business & Same goal.

There’s a lot that goes into running a small remodeling business beyond what you see on the jobsite and we’ve learned we’re a whole lot better at it together. 🤍
