We want to retire a word.
Not a big word. Four syllables. You've used it a hundred times.
Virtual.
As in virtual office. As in the thing you tell people you have when you don't want to explain the whole setup.
Think about what that word actually means to people.
Virtual reality — not quite real. Virtual simulation — a stand-in for the genuine thing. Virtual meeting — the one where someone's cat walks across the keyboard.
"Virtual" means almost. A workaround. Close, but not the real thing.
And yet.
The address is real. It's a suite number in a real commercial building that shows up on Google, holds up with banks, and passes scrutiny from every client who looks you up.
The receptionist is real. A human being who answers your calls by your company name, on the first ring, and actually knows your business.
The conference room is real. A table, a door, good lighting, and a professional atmosphere — not a coffee shop, not a kitchen counter.
The mail is real. The support is real. The credibility is real.
So tell me: what exactly is virtual about any of that?
The word was always industry shorthand — a description of the model, not of what you actually have. Somewhere along the way it stuck. And it's been quietly underselling professionals ever since.
The next time someone asks where your office is, try this instead:
"I use a professional business center in Roseville."
Same reality. Completely different impression.
At Apex Office Centers, we've been providing real infrastructure — real address, real people, real spaces — for 22 years in Roseville, CA.
The only thing virtual about it is the outdated label people slapped on it years ago.
Your business deserves better than that word.
