Red Cap Timing Provides Timing and Results Reporting to Support Track and Field, Cross Country, and Road Races

We time track and field events with cameras that provide Fully Automatic Timing (FAT). For cross country and road races we use IPICO chip timing integrated with FinishLynx.

Last Saturday (5/16) the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section held it's Track and Field Divisional Finals. Each of the five divisions competed for Division titles in 15 events (3200s and 4X800s were contested the week before). To deal with the very windy conditions we set up three finish lines. ResulTV came in handy for showing race and field event results as well as team scores on the scoreboard. The post-season is underway in the Sac-Joaquin Section. Division I prelims were held today. Folsom HS has a new video scoreboard that we put through its paces with FinishLynx results for each prelim heat. Once compiled, we showed the finals qualifiers. https://redcaptiming.com/2026/sjsd1/

It was "No Blocks Sunday" at the PAL Championships (with 23 middle schools from the Sacramento area). It's fun to go fast. We cranked out 32 heats of the 100 in 35 minutes followed by 29 heats of the 200 in 41 minutes. Using the Clarion II helped make it easy. https://redcaptiming.com/2026/pal/ VS Athletics

We had Causeway Dual today at UC Davis. Sac State won both Men's and Women's competitions. It was close for the Women, only 2 points separated the teams before the last race. Track is at its best when the meet is decided by the 4X400. https://redcaptiming.com/2026/causeway/

The Fanelli Track Classic draws colleges and universities from all over the nation. We got under way yesterday with seventeen 5Ks, 8 sections of the Steeplechase, and thirty-three 1500s. We are on tap today for five 10Ks and 40+ sections of the 800. https://redcaptiming.com/2026/fanelli/

The Capital Invitational was held at Sac City College on March 20-21. The facilities feature a new track surface, scoreboard, and the common finish about 200m from the timing booth. This new "sprint and field" meet was well attended by local high schools. https://redcaptiming.com/2026/capital/
