Red Cap Timing Provides Timing and Results Reporting to Support Track and Field, Cross Country, and Road Races

We time track and field events with cameras that provide Fully Automatic Timing (FAT). For cross country and road races we use IPICO chip timing integrated with FinishLynx.

What a fun day out at Old Durham Ferry. 🍂 A couple hours of gentle rain kept things cool and the dust down. 🌧️

Many thanks to the 9 Division 4 and 5 schools who came out to race with us. Fun fact: this spot has been welcoming travelers since 1859, when a river crossing and hotel was set up for folks heading to the mines of the Sierra Nevada. Since then it’s been a county park, a state recreation area, and, since 1999, an educational facility for the San Joaquin County Office of Education. Not a bad place to run a cross country race!

🏃‍♀️☀️ Santa Clara Bronco Invitational – Baylands Park, Sunnyvale

Saturday's Bronco Invitational had four races: a Men's 8K and Women's 6K in both the Invitational and Open divisions. The Women's 6K Invitational was exceptional with more than 200 runners and 23 scoring teams.

📸 Photo 2: Santa Clara senior Milaina Almonte finishing alone in front of a big home crowd. She won by almost 25 seconds in 20:00.3, just missing breaking 20!

Runners from several Division 5 schools competed in the CCAA_MVL #3 Cross Country at the Legacy Sports Complex in Tracy on Tuesday, Oct 13. A strong north wind made for tough conditions, and the athletes handled it well.

Thank you to the host MIllennium HS, volunteers, coaches, and families who made the meet possible.

🔥 **Bulldog Invitational – Hot One at Willow Hills!** 🔥

Nine big races, including Large School and Small School Varsity, Frosh/Soph Girls, Frosh Boys, Soph Boys, and JV. Temperatures pushed close to 100 degrees.

Davis swept the Large School Varsity races. The boys won with 73 points, led by Elias Thronson's winning 15:40.6. The girls took the team title with 88 points. Ponderosa's Emelyn Angelo won the girls' race in 18:22.1, with her sister Sadi right behind in 18:29.9. 👏

Del Oro swept the Small School Varsity team titles. Ethan Kelly won the boys' race in 16:37.3, and Nevada Union's Leah Krason won the girls' race in 18:36.2.

Folsom XC and all the volunteers kept athletes cool and safe. Huge respect to every runner who toughed it out in that heat! 💧🏃‍♀️🏃‍♂️

🏃‍♀️ And they're off! 🏃‍♀️

The girls' cross country race got underway at Lodi Lake on Wednesday, 9/23! Big thanks to Tom Rossow for starting our runners with our VS Athletics Lite II (electronic starting device). ⏱️

The meet brought together the CCAA and MVL, with 11 schools competing. Ben Holt Academy hosted the event. Great job to every runner who took on the course!

Large School Varsity Boys — 1K Split
Kim Duyst Twilight Cross Country Invitational

Roughly 240 runners cross our timing mats in this 90-second clip, showing how tight the field stays through the first kilometer. This year's meet drew 75 Sacramento and San Joaquin Valley high schools and 10+ college programs with nearly 2,300 registered runners in the 13 races.

Our midweek meet got cancelled due a heat advisory (105+ degrees). We didn’t get the word until after setup. Time was well spent however. Timing and identifying runners with UHF is so varied between event locations we are now quantifying factors the influence readers ( the pic is our app that returns stats on signals received from UHF tags ).

Cross country season is in full swing at the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section, set against the golden hills of California!

At today's Lagoon Valley Classic we ran 10 races in about 3 hours. New this season: our middleware app pulls results directly from FinishLynx and generates team scores on the fly, separated by gender and division, straight to our scoreboards (see the pictures).

Last Saturday (5/16) the CIF Sac-Joaquin Section held it's Track and Field Divisional Finals. Each of the five divisions competed for Division titles in 15 events (3200s and 4X800s were contested the week before). To deal with the very windy conditions we set up three finish lines. ResulTV came in handy for showing race and field event results as well as team scores on the scoreboard.
