Growth for scrap yards often means adding equipment. Bigger machines, more capacity, more throughput.

But these aren’t simple or inexpensive investments. A lot of opportunity comes from movement within the secondary market. One yard has a system that no longer fits its operation. We’ve seen this story play out more times than we can count. You find a machine that looks like it could work for your yard. The pictures look good. The specs are close to what you need. So you start digging a little deeper.

What’s the price? Where is it located? How was it being used? What material was it processing? What maintenance has been done? What comes with it?

Those are the details that help you figure out whether it’s actually the right machine for your operation.
