According to The Academy of Lactation Policy and Practice, CLC certification identifies a professional in lactation counseling who has demonstrated the necessary skills, knowledge, and attitudes to provide clinical breastfeeding counseling and management support to families who are thinking about breastfeeding or who have questions or problems during the course of breastfeeding/lactation.

Though natural and in practice since forever, why is breastfeeding so tricky that mothers need help?

Reason: Unrealistic Expectations and Lack of Preparation

You wouldn’t go to an interview without researching the company, would you? Although it is necessary to have a job to survive and working has been in practice forever, you still need to do your research to be prepared for the task at hand. Treating breastfeeding the same will ensure success in your new job of nurturing your baby. We need to do research about our bodies and our babies to be prepared for the task at hand. With this platform and by using evidence-based research, I hope to end unrealistic expectations and the spread of misinformation. Together, let’s break down these barriers, and let me share my knowledge with you to help mothers reach their breastfeeding goals and normalize the natural art of breastfeeding. Let’s get to work!
